Greater Noida: In a move to further strengthen its cleanliness drive, the Greater Noida Authority has extended the last date for applications to its Cleanliness Ranking Competition to January 31, 2026. The competition, aimed at promoting scientific waste management and hygiene practices, has been launched for bulk waste generators, including residential societies, while non-residential institutions are also eligible to participate. Earlier, the deadline for submitting applications was January 9, which has now been extended to encourage wider participation.
The Authority has announced that top-performing participants in both residential and non-residential categories will be rewarded with cash prizes. The winners will be felicitated during the upcoming flower exhibition scheduled to be held from February 26 to March 1.
Cleanliness Drive Focused on Bulk Waste Generators
The Cleanliness Ranking Competition is part of the Greater Noida Authority’s broader initiative to promote sustainable waste management practices across the city. Under the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, bulk waste generators are required to manage and process their waste at their own level. The Authority only collects inert waste that cannot be recycled.
Most residential societies in Greater Noida fall under the category of bulk waste generators. To ensure effective implementation of waste segregation, composting, and disposal at the source, the Authority has been actively encouraging societies to adopt best practices. The cleanliness competition is designed to recognize and reward those institutions that are setting benchmarks in waste management and sanitation.
Applications Open for Residential and Non-Residential Categories
On the directions of Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar, the health department of the Authority is organizing the Cleanliness Ranking Competition for bulk waste generators for the current year as well. The health department has invited online applications from all residential societies and non-residential institutions that generate bulk waste.
Applications have been open on the Greater Noida Authority’s official website since December 26, 2025. Interested participants can now apply till January 31, 2026. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, evaluation parameters, and application procedures is available on the Authority’s website at [https://gnida.up.gov.in](https://gnida.up.gov.in).
Evaluation Process and Award Ceremony
The Authority has laid down a set of defined parameters for evaluating participants in the competition. These parameters include segregation of waste at source, on-site processing of biodegradable waste, reduction in waste sent to landfills, cleanliness of premises, and overall adherence to solid waste management rules.
A team of experts appointed by the Greater Noida Authority will assess all applications received under the competition. Based on their evaluation, winners will be selected in both residential and non-residential categories. The award ceremony will be held during the flower exhibition proposed to take place between February 26 and March 1, providing a public platform to acknowledge and encourage exemplary cleanliness efforts.
Cash Prizes for Top Performers
The Authority has announced attractive cash prizes to motivate participation and healthy competition. In both residential and non-residential categories, the institution securing the first position will be awarded a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. The second position holder will receive ₹75,000, while the third position will be rewarded with ₹50,000.
In addition, two participants in each category will be given consolation prizes of ₹25,000 each. Through these rewards, the Authority aims to recognize consistent and effective efforts toward maintaining cleanliness and responsible waste management.
Authority Urges Societies to Participate Actively
Additional CEO of the Greater Noida Authority, Shailakshmi VS, has appealed to all residential societies and institutions in Greater Noida to participate enthusiastically in the Cleanliness Ranking Competition. She emphasized that such initiatives not only help improve hygiene and environmental standards but also promote collective responsibility toward making Greater Noida a cleaner and more sustainable city.
With the extended deadline, the Authority expects increased participation from societies and institutions, reinforcing its commitment to cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community engagement across Greater Noida.
