Noida, February 17, 2026 – The Assistant Director of Factories, Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar, inspected M/S Vidya Jeevan Coaching, Knowledge Park-1, Surajpur Kasana Road, and M/S GL Bajaj College of Technology and Management, Knowledge Park-3, Greater Noida on February 17, 2026. The inspection revealed that construction activities and academic operations were occurring simultaneously without adequate safety arrangements, barriers, or emergency exits.
At Vidya Jeevan Coaching, approximately 1,300 students were studying on the ground and first floors. It was observed that many students were studying in unsafe conditions near the construction area, with uncontrolled movement, creating severe and potentially fatal risks.
At GL Bajaj College, roof and floor casting, steel construction, shuttering, and stair construction on the ninth floor were underway. Scaffolding, guard rails, toe-boards, and safety nets were missing. Workers at height did not have safety belts, full-body harnesses, lifelines, or fall arrest systems. Construction debris, exposed electrical wires, dust, and other materials were scattered. Fire-fighting equipment was insufficient, and personal protective equipment was not provided.
Based on site inspections, interviews with workers and representatives, and document analysis, it was concluded that construction activities posed immediate and serious risks to the lives, health, and safety of workers and students.
Considering the seriousness, the Assistant Director of Factories ordered that all construction work at both establishments be immediately suspended and prohibited. Work may resume only after a recognized technical institution or expert conducts a thorough inspection of violations, submits a comprehensive report, and full compliance with recommendations is verified. The suspension will remain in effect until safety certification is presented and approved.
The order aims to protect workers, students, and the public from any potential hazards and prevent future accidents or loss of life. Authorities warned that any repeated violation of rules will result in strict legal action.
Safety measures required before resuming work include proper scaffolding, verified worker numbers and workload, guard rails and toe-boards on platforms, safety nets, full-body harnesses, lifelines, and fall arrest systems. Covering open shafts and platform edges, distributing helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, masks, availability of first aid kits, and proper record-keeping are also mandatory.
Officials clarified that this suspension has been imposed to eliminate potential risks and ensure life safety when construction resumes. Detailed information was collected from workers and representatives during inspections, and safety violations were carefully analyzed.
The Assistant Director emphasized that any future violation of safety standards at construction sites will have serious consequences and lead to legal action. This step is significant in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing life-saving measures at construction sites in Noida.
