Massive Public Participation Despite Adverse Weather
The blood donation camp saw overwhelming participation, even as adverse weather conditions prevailed in the city. More than 1,000 citizens registered for blood donation, out of which 900 units of blood were successfully collected. The Chief Minister said the turnout was a powerful reflection of the collective spirit of Delhiites, who stepped forward despite rainfall and challenging weather.
She noted that on a simple appeal by the government, thousands responded with enthusiasm, proving that the people of Delhi deeply respect the nation’s freedom fighters and are always ready to contribute to causes of national importance. According to her, the response to the camp demonstrated that public service and patriotism remain deeply rooted in society.
Donors Honoured for Their Service
As a mark of appreciation, the Chief Minister thanked all blood donors for their noble contribution. She personally presented donor kits to participants, which included a jute bag, coffee mug, T-shirt, cap, and donor badge. Certificates were also distributed to all donors in recognition of their selfless service.
The Chief Minister said that every blood donor present at the camp had played a direct role in saving lives. She emphasized that blood donation is not just a medical necessity but a humanitarian act that reflects compassion and responsibility towards society. The initiative, she said, carried forward Netaji’s ideals of selfless service and dedication to the nation.‘Every Drop of Blood for the Nation’
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the enthusiasm displayed at the camp was truly inspiring. She highlighted that the resolve of “every drop of blood for the nation” captures the essence of the initiative. According to her, blood donation not only helps patients in urgent need but also serves as a living tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his vision for a strong and self-reliant nation.
She added that such initiatives strengthen social bonds and reinforce the idea that nation-building is a collective responsibility. The Chief Minister reiterated the Delhi Government’s commitment to supporting all efforts that promote public welfare and humanitarian service.
Road Safety Campaign Alongside Blood Donation
Along with the blood donation drive, the Delhi Government also carried out a road safety campaign at the venue. Helmets were distributed to participants under the leadership of the Chief Minister. She said that saving lives is not limited to hospitals and blood banks alone, but also depends on responsible behaviour on roads.
The Chief Minister stressed that road accidents claim numerous lives every year, and awareness about traffic rules is crucial, especially among youth. The distribution of helmets, she said, was aimed at encouraging safe driving practices and preventing avoidable loss of life. She underlined that public health and road safety go hand in hand.
Health Department’s Role and Government Commitment
The Chief Minister praised the Health Department, doctors, nursing staff, voluntary organisations, and all personnel involved in organising the camp. She said such large-scale events require coordination and dedication, and the successful execution of the camp reflects the efficiency of the health machinery.
She added that the Delhi Government is continuously working to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure the availability of life-saving resources, including blood, for patients in need. Regular blood donation camps, she said, are an important part of this effort.
