The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration has released the draft electoral rolls for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council’s Meerut Graduates’ and Teachers’ Constituencies as part of the De-Novo revision programme. The draft rolls, based on approved claims submitted between 30 September 2025 and 6 November 2025, were published for public inspection on 2 December 2025 at all polling stations across the district. The publication process aims to ensure that all eligible graduate and teacher voters can verify their details and submit claims or objections within the stipulated timeline.
Draft Rolls Open for Public Inspection from 2 to 16 December
Deputy District Election Officer and Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) Atul Kumar informed that the ongoing revision is being conducted under the instructions of the Election Commission of India, using 1 November 2025 as the qualifying date. As part of this exercise, citizens belonging to the Graduate and Teacher categories—whose names do not appear in the published draft rolls—may file claims and objections between 2 December and 16 December 2025.
Eligible voters must visit their respective polling stations during office hours to submit applications in the prescribed forms to designated officers and additional designated officers deployed specifically for the revision process. The administration has made the draft lists accessible at every polling location in the district to facilitate easy verification.
Forms, Eligibility Conditions, and Required Documents
The district election office has clarified the documentation requirements for different categories:
* Form-18 is applicable for Graduate electors.
* Form-19 is required for Teacher electors.
* Form-7 may be used for objections, such as requesting deletion of an existing entry.
* Other official forms are available for correction of entries or change of address.
All forms are being provided free of cost at polling stations, tehsil offices and the district election office.
For inclusion in the Meerut Graduates’ Constituency, applicants must have completed their graduation at least three years before the qualifying date, meaning they must hold a degree, diploma or marksheet dated on or before 1 November 2022. Certified copies of these documents, along with proof of ordinary residence, must be attached with Form-18.
For the Meerut Teachers’ Constituency, applicants must have completed a minimum of three years of teaching experience within the last six years, as of the qualifying date, in a recognised educational institution not below the secondary level. Proof of residence must also be attached with Form-19. These eligibility criteria have been set in accordance with guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
Administration Urges Eligible Citizens to Verify Entries
ADM Atul Kumar reiterated that the Election Commission aims to ensure that all eligible citizens are properly enrolled in the electoral rolls of both constituencies. He urged residents falling under the Graduate and Teacher categories to take full advantage of the draft publication period and verify their names without delay.
Applications along with required documents can be submitted at:
* The relevant polling station,
* The tehsil office, or
* The district election office.
Citizens have also been advised to check details uploaded online. Polling-station-wise draft rolls and the list of designated officers and additional designated officers have been uploaded on the district websites of all concerned districts within the constituency. The administration has encouraged the public to review the information and cooperate with the revision process to ensure accurate and comprehensive electoral rolls.
The Information Department, Gautam Buddh Nagar, has appealed to voters to make the most of the opportunity and ensure timely submission of claims, objections or corrections before the 16 December 2025 deadline.
