Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 22, 2026 — The Uttar Pradesh Invitational Women’s Basketball Tournament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Ramagya Public School, KP-5, under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate and organised by the District Sports Office Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Grand Inauguration Ceremony
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Bindu Bhatia, winner of Mrs. Asia Pacific World 2025 and social worker. Regional Sports Officer, Meerut Division, Jitendra Yadav attended as the Guest of Honour.
During the ceremony, School Principal Avni Singh welcomed Bindu Bhatia by presenting a bouquet, while In-charge District Sports Officer Gautam Buddh Nagar honoured Jitendra Yadav with a memento.

The first day of the tournament witnessed exciting matches with strong performances by participating teams:
Prayagraj defeated Hapur 21–9
Agra defeated Gautam Buddh Nagar 44–21
Ghaziabad defeated Aligarh 40–28
In another match, Ghaziabad defeated Hapur 25–6, strengthening their position
Matches to Continue Next Day
In-charge District Sports Officer Dr. Parvez Ali informed that the remaining matches of the tournament will be played the following day starting from 7:00 AM.
