New Delhi, December 17, 2025:
Under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government has facilitated the provision of 25 oxygen concentrators along with 25 BiPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) machines for troops deployed in high-altitude and extremely challenging terrains where oxygen levels are critically low. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to national service and the welfare of personnel serving in difficult and inhospitable conditions.
The decision to supply the equipment was taken in coordination with the Oxygen Branch of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, following a request from the concerned Medical Regiment. The Delhi Government emphasized that the move was undertaken with national interest and the well-being of troops operating in extreme conditions as a top priority.
Troops stationed in such remote and adverse environments are highly susceptible to hypoxia and other altitude-related health complications. Timely access to oxygen support and respiratory assistance is critical for maintaining both their health and operational readiness. The equipment has been provided strictly for medical support and emergency care. The receiving units are responsible for proper maintenance, safe usage, and accountability of the equipment in accordance with established protocols, ensuring that it remains functional and available when required.
Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government remains committed to standing firmly with our troops. Our soldiers serve the nation under extremely challenging conditions, and it is our shared national duty to ensure they have access to timely medical care. This initiative prioritizes national interest while safeguarding the health and welfare of our armed forces personnel.”
The minister added that the Delhi Government’s step is aimed at strengthening medical preparedness and morale for soldiers deployed in the most challenging and remote regions. By providing these life-saving units, the government seeks to enhance operational readiness while demonstrating unwavering support for the troops.
This initiative reflects a broader approach by the Delhi Government to ensure that armed forces personnel stationed in extreme conditions receive the necessary medical and logistical support. Ensuring access to oxygen support and respiratory care not only mitigates health risks but also boosts the confidence and safety of soldiers performing critical duties in high-altitude deployments.
The Delhi Health Department emphasized that the provision of these units aligns with the government’s commitment to national responsibility and the care of personnel serving under demanding conditions. The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the medical preparedness and overall welfare of troops stationed in high-altitude and remote areas, reinforcing their ability to perform duties effectively while ensuring timely medical support.
This step by the Delhi Government demonstrates a proactive approach to bridging gaps in medical support for troops, highlighting a balance between national interest and the welfare of armed forces personnel serving in the most challenging environments.
