New Delhi, December 17, 2025:
In a major boost to sustainable public transport and interstate connectivity, the Delhi Government is set to inaugurate a fully electric interstate bus service between Dhaula Kuan in Delhi and Dharuhera in Haryana. The launch, led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, will also see 100 new electric buses joining the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) fleet. The initiative aims to strengthen clean mobility, reduce congestion and emissions, and provide modern commuting options for residents in the Delhi–Gurugram–Manesar–Dharuhera corridor.
The new Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera e-bus service will operate with three fully electric buses in each shift, offering passengers a safe, reliable, affordable, and comfortable alternative to private vehicles. The route will pass through key points including Dhaula Kuan, HR Rajokri Border, Gurugram, Kherki Daula, Rampura, Manesar, Panchgaon, Vyaspur YNR, Sidhrawali, and Dharuhera. Daily commuters, office-goers, students, and industrial workers residing along this corridor are expected to benefit significantly from the new service.
The service will run on a fixed timetable, ensuring convenient travel during peak and non-peak hours. From Dhaula Kuan to Dharuhera, buses will operate at 06:30 hrs, 07:00 hrs, 07:30 hrs, 14:45 hrs, 15:15 hrs, and 15:45 hrs. In the return direction from Dharuhera to Dhaula Kuan, buses will depart at 09:45 hrs, 10:15 hrs, 10:45 hrs, 18:00 hrs, 18:30 hrs, and 19:00 hrs.
The addition of 100 new electric buses to the DTC fleet further strengthens Delhi’s commitment to clean public transport. These modern low-floor, air-conditioned buses are equipped with features such as CCTV cameras, panic buttons, real-time vehicle tracking systems, and accessibility support for persons with disabilities, ensuring enhanced commuter safety and comfort.
Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “The launch of the Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera electric bus service, along with 100 new e-buses, marks another important step in expanding clean, reliable, and affordable public transport beyond Delhi. This initiative will improve regional connectivity, reduce vehicular emissions, and provide safer, modern commuting options for citizens. DTC remains committed to strengthening interstate electric mobility along high-demand corridors.”
This service builds on the success of earlier fully electric interstate routes, including Maharana Pratap ISBT–Baraut in Uttar Pradesh and Maharana Pratap ISBT–Sonipat in Haryana, launched under the current Delhi Government. By encouraging a shift from personal vehicles to electric buses, the initiative is expected to reduce traffic congestion and emissions on this busy corridor, while promoting sustainable mobility in line with the Green Delhi Mission.
The launch of the new Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera e-bus service represents a significant step toward modern, environmentally friendly transportation solutions, reinforcing Delhi’s commitment to integrating public transport with neighbouring regions and supporting the economic and social development of the National Capital Region.
