Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 13, 2026 — A review meeting of the Government Assurance Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held on Friday at the auditorium of Gautam Buddha University under the chairmanship of Rajpal Singh Balyan.
During the meeting, progress on 11 identified points was reviewed in detail, and officials from various departments were directed to ensure effective implementation of government assurances and development schemes.
Members of the Legislative Assembly Ram Khiladi Singh, Mohammad Faheem Irfan, and Ketki Singh were present at the meeting along with senior officials from several departments.
Review of Multiple Government Departments
During the session, the committee reviewed the functioning and progress of several departments including Home, Prisons, Food and Civil Supplies, Geology and Mining, Medical Health and Family Welfare, Basic Education, Secondary Education, Irrigation and Water Resources, Forest and Environment, Housing and Urban Planning, and Urban Development.
Officials from the respective departments presented detailed reports on the implementation of government schemes, ongoing projects, and administrative activities in the district.
Law and Order and Safe City Measures Discussed
While reviewing the Home Department, the Additional Commissioner of Police informed the committee that strict legal action is being taken against habitual offenders under the Goonda Act, Gangster Act, and by opening history sheets.
Police pickets and intensive checking drives are being conducted in identified hotspot areas to maintain law and order.
Under the Safe City Project, high-capacity CCTV cameras have been installed at major intersections and sensitive routes, which are monitored through a centralized command center.
For women’s safety, Pink Booths and Anti-Romeo squads are conducting regular patrols around public places, schools, and colleges. Public awareness programs under the Mission Shakti campaign are also being organized to strengthen coordination between the police and citizens.
Daily foot patrolling is being carried out in the evenings to enhance the sense of security among residents and deter anti-social elements. The Yaksha App is being used to monitor police patrols and track the real-time location of deployed personnel.
Cybercrime Control and Mining Monitoring
Officials also highlighted the steps being taken to address rising cybercrime. Cyber help desks have been activated at every police station to assist citizens and respond quickly to complaints.
Special teams are working to freeze and recover funds in cyber financial fraud cases within the “golden hour.”
The District Mining Officer informed the committee that satellite imagery is being used to detect illegal mining activities outside authorized lease areas.
During the financial year 2025–26, action was taken in 241 cases related to illegal mining and transportation, ensuring recovery of approximately ₹92.79 lakh in revenue by February 2026.
Health, Education and Infrastructure Updates
The Chief Medical Officer informed the committee that modern medical equipment including a C-arm machine is available at the district combined hospital for treating accident victims, and a Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre is also operational.
In rural areas, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres are functioning with the required number of doctors, paramedical staff, and medical facilities.
The District Basic Education Officer reported that construction of Chief Minister Model Composite Schools and Chief Minister Abhyuday Composite Schools is progressing rapidly in the district and is targeted for completion by March 2026.
The District Inspector of Schools stated that biometric attendance of teachers and staff in government secondary schools is being maintained, and student attendance is also being recorded through the UPMSP portal.
Chairperson Directs Timely Implementation of Development Works
The committee also reviewed the functioning of Sewage Treatment Plants, air quality monitoring stations, anti-smog guns, mechanical sweeping systems, and industrial monitoring mechanisms in the Noida region.
Concluding the meeting, Chairperson Rajpal Singh Balyan directed officials to ensure that all development schemes in the district are implemented in a timely and effective manner so that the public receives maximum benefit.
The District Magistrate assured the chairperson that all instructions issued during the meeting will be implemented by the concerned departments.
