A National Lok Adalat will be organized in Gautam Buddh Nagar on March 14 at district headquarters and tehsil levels to settle various disputes through mutual agreement.
Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 13, 2026 — In accordance with the directions of the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority and District Judge Atul Srivastava, a National Lok Adalat will be organized in Gautam Buddh Nagar on March 14, 2026.
Somprabha Mishra, Additional District Judge-II, Special Judge (SC/ST Act) and Nodal Officer for the National Lok Adalat in Gautam Buddh Nagar, informed that the Lok Adalat will be conducted at both the district headquarters and tehsil levels.
She stated that the objective of the National Lok Adalat is to facilitate quick and amicable settlement of disputes through mutual agreement between the parties.
Various Cases to Be Taken Up for Settlement
According to officials, the National Lok Adalat will primarily address compoundable criminal cases, family disputes, motor accident claim cases, and matters related to electricity and water bills.
Cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, land revenue disputes, service-related matters, and pre-litigation cases will also be taken up during the Lok Adalat.
Other disputes that can be resolved through mutual settlement between the parties will also be considered for disposal during the proceedings.
Appeal to Citizens to Participate
Officials emphasized that settlement through Lok Adalat helps save time and legal expenses while promoting amicable resolution between parties.
Residents and litigants have been encouraged to participate in the National Lok Adalat and resolve their disputes through mutual settlement.
The initiative aims to reduce the burden of pending cases and ensure faster access to justice for citizens.
