Gautam Budh Nagar, January 5, 2026:
The Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission will organise a Women’s Public Hearing and Chaupal programme in Gautam Budh Nagar on January 7, 2026, with the aim of addressing grievances, problems and suggestions related to women in the district. The programme will be held under the chairpersonship of State Women Commission member Meenakshi Bharala and is scheduled to begin at 11.00 a.m. at the auditorium of the Block Development Officer’s office in Dadri.
Providing details about the programme, District Probation Officer Manoj Kumar Pushkar stated that the initiative has been planned to create a direct platform for women to present their concerns before the State Women Commission. Through this public hearing, complaints and issues related to women from different parts of the district will be heard, examined and followed up with necessary action for their resolution in coordination with the concerned departments.
According to the District Probation Officer, the Women’s Public Hearing and Chaupal programme is intended to strengthen the grievance redressal mechanism for women and ensure that their voices are heard at the appropriate level. The presence of a member of the State Women Commission will enable on-the-spot review of cases and provide directions to officials for prompt and effective action wherever required. Issues related to women’s safety, welfare schemes, domestic disputes, social problems and administrative delays are expected to be raised during the hearing.
Officials said that such programmes play an important role in bridging the gap between women and the administration by offering a safe and accessible forum for expressing concerns. The Chaupal format is designed to encourage open dialogue, allowing women to share their experiences and suggestions freely, while officials listen and respond in a structured manner. This approach helps in identifying systemic issues and taking corrective measures at both the district and state levels.
The District Probation Officer appealed to women from across Gautam Budh Nagar to participate in large numbers and make full use of the opportunity. He emphasised that women facing any form of difficulty or seeking guidance related to their rights, welfare benefits or grievance redressal should attend the programme with relevant details and documents, if available, to facilitate effective action. He added that greater participation would help the administration understand ground-level challenges more clearly and improve service delivery.
Administrative arrangements are being put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme. Concerned departments have been instructed to remain present during the hearing so that issues raised by women can be addressed promptly and directions issued by the Commission member can be implemented without delay. Officials also indicated that follow-up mechanisms would be strengthened to monitor the progress of cases taken up during the public hearing.
The State Women Commission has been consistently conducting such public hearings and outreach programmes across districts with the objective of safeguarding women’s rights and ensuring justice. By organising the programme in Gautam Budh Nagar, the Commission aims to reinforce its commitment to women’s empowerment and responsive governance. The district administration has extended full cooperation to ensure that the event is conducted effectively and achieves its intended objectives.
The District Probation Officer reiterated that the Women’s Public Hearing and Chaupal programme on January 7 would be an important step towards resolving women-related issues at the local level and fostering confidence among women in administrative and institutional support systems. He once again urged women to attend the programme in maximum numbers and benefit from the initiative.
The information regarding the programme was shared by the Information Department, Gautam Budh Nagar.
