A significant review meeting was held on Tuesday at the NIC Auditorium located in the Collectorate under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate to assess the implementation of eye and health camps for students and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign for girls in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. The meeting aimed to ensure effective execution of these important public health initiatives.

Addressing the meeting, the District Magistrate emphasized that good health is essential for the overall development of students. He directed officials to organize regular eye and health camps at the school level so that maximum students can benefit from these services. He stated that timely health check-ups help in early detection of eye-related and other health issues among children, enabling prompt treatment and prevention of long-term complications.
The District Magistrate further instructed that health screening arrangements in schools should be strengthened and effective coordination between the Health Department and the Education Department should be ensured. He made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated and every eligible student must receive the intended health benefits.
Special emphasis was laid on accelerating the HPV vaccination campaign for girls during the meeting. The District Magistrate highlighted that HPV vaccination is a crucial preventive measure against cervical cancer. He directed that girls in the targeted age group should be covered under the vaccination program on a 100 percent basis. He also stressed the need for organizing awareness programs in schools and informing parents about the benefits and importance of HPV vaccination.
He instructed the Education and Health Departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the vaccination drive. Regular monitoring of the campaign and submission of progress reports at regular intervals were also emphasized.
During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Narendra Kumar briefed the participants about the ongoing health initiatives, including the status of eye camps and HPV vaccination in the district. Additional District Magistrate Manglesh Dubey emphasized inter-departmental coordination and effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level. District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar shared details regarding arrangements for organizing health camps in schools.
Concluding the meeting, the District Magistrate directed all concerned officials to accord top priority to these health-related initiatives for students and girls, ensuring their successful implementation to build a healthy and aware society in the district.
