A monthly review meeting on prosecution work was held on Tuesday at the Collectorate auditorium in Gautam Buddh Nagar under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, with the objective of strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the prosecution system. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of serious criminal cases, particularly those related to POCSO, gangster acts, and other sensitive matters.

Addressing the meeting, the District Magistrate stated that all important cases related to POCSO, gangster laws, and prosecution are being continuously monitored at the government level. In such a scenario, the responsibility of government advocates increases significantly to ensure effective, prompt, and strong representation in these cases so that victims receive timely justice and the intent of the government is implemented effectively.
The District Magistrate directed that all criminal cases should be regularly monitored and updated lists of cases related to offenders should be submitted on time. He also instructed that detailed reports of cases resulting in acquittal should be presented promptly, so that decisions regarding filing appeals in such matters can be taken during monthly review meetings.

He emphasized that prosecution work should be carried out in a well-planned manner, with thorough preparation of facts and strong presentation of evidence, to ensure maximum disposal of cases in the interest of the government and the public. The District Magistrate noted that strong prosecution plays a crucial role in securing convictions and strengthening law and order.
The meeting also stressed the need for better coordination between the prosecution and investigating officers, so that cases do not weaken due to technical or procedural lapses. Special attention was directed toward proper documentation, timely availability of witnesses, and effective representation in courts.

Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Manglesh Dubey also reviewed prosecution-related matters and emphasized timely reporting and continuous monitoring. Government advocates present at the meeting shared their practical challenges and suggestions related to prosecution work.
Concluding the meeting, the District Magistrate stated that regular reviews of prosecution work will continue in the future, and accountability will be fixed in cases where negligence is found. The meeting was attended by ADM (Administration) Manglesh Dubey and all government advocates of the district.
