In compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court, the Hon’ble District Judge, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Mr. Atul Shrivastava, conducted an inspection of the Government Observation Home for Boys, Government Observation Home for Girls, and the Government Girls’ Home on Tuesday. The inspection was attended by the Secretary (Full-Time), District Legal Services Authority, Ms. Shivani Tyagi.

During the inspection, the Hon’ble District Judge interacted with the boys and girls residing in the observation homes and listened to their concerns. He inquired about the status of their cases, ongoing judicial proceedings, and the legal assistance being provided to them. He also reviewed the quality of food, cleanliness, security arrangements, and other basic amenities available in the institutions, and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.
The District Judge emphasized that the primary objective of observation homes is not only protection but also the holistic development and rehabilitation of children, enabling them to reintegrate into the mainstream of society. He stressed the need to provide a safe, sensitive, and positive environment to help children build confidence and work towards a better future.

On this occasion, Ms. Shivani Tyagi, Secretary (Full-Time), District Legal Services Authority, informed that various skill development and personality enhancement activities such as yoga, dance, tailoring, computer courses, English speaking courses, meditation, and art and craft are being regularly conducted for juveniles in the observation homes. These initiatives aim to promote self-reliance and overall development so that the children can successfully reconnect with society.
The Hon’ble District Judge appreciated these initiatives and stated that such activities play a vital role in the mental, physical, and social development of children. He directed that these programs be further strengthened and expanded based on the interests and needs of the children.
Concluding the inspection, the District Judge instructed the officials to ensure the protection of the rights, safety, and welfare of every child residing in the observation homes, and to address any issues promptly and effectively.
