Gautam Buddh Nagar, May 1, 2026:
In preparation for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on May 9, 2026, a review meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Chief Judicial Magistrate Harikesh Pandey to ensure effective planning and maximum disposal of cases across the district.
The National Lok Adalat will be organised at the district headquarters civil court as well as all tehsil-level courts in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The initiative is being conducted under the guidance of District Judge Atul Srivastava, with the objective of providing speedy, cost-effective, and accessible justice to citizens through amicable settlement of disputes.

During the meeting, judicial magistrates were directed to make advance preparations to ensure that a maximum number of cases can be resolved on the scheduled date. Officials emphasized the importance of prior identification of suitable cases and timely issuance of notices to concerned parties so that they can participate in the Lok Adalat proceedings.
A wide range of cases will be taken up during the National Lok Adalat, including civil disputes, matrimonial and family matters, mutation and land lease-related cases, labour-related disputes, compoundable criminal cases, bank loan matters, revenue cases, forest land disputes, land acquisition cases, and motor accident compensation claims. All such cases will be resolved through mutual consent between parties to ensure quick and effective settlement.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Harikesh Pandey stated during the meeting that the primary objective of the National Lok Adalat is to provide simple, accessible, and timely justice to the public. He stressed that all judicial officers must ensure proper coordination and preparedness so that the maximum number of cases can be disposed of efficiently on May 9.
Officials were also instructed to ensure that all necessary procedural steps are completed in advance, including communication with litigants, documentation, and case verification. The emphasis was placed on maintaining efficiency and transparency throughout the process.

The meeting was attended by several judicial officers, including Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)/ACJM Mayank Tripathi, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Shivani Rawat, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)/ACJM Virek Agarwal, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)/ACJM Ravi Kumar Sagar, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)/ACJM Sumit Kumar, Civil Judge (Senior Division) Richa Shukla, Civil Judge (Junior Division) Ankita Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division) Juhi Anand, Civil Judge (Junior Division) Prabhat Kumar, and Civil Judge (Junior Division) Siddharth Kumar.
Authorities expressed confidence that with proper planning and coordination, the National Lok Adalat will help in reducing the pendency of cases and provide timely relief to litigants. The initiative reflects the judiciary’s continued commitment to promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and ensuring easy access to justice for all citizens.
