Noida, May 1, 2026:
Marking International Labour Day, the Noida Authority has initiated a large-scale renovation and infrastructure improvement drive for worker housing across multiple sectors in the city. The initiative aims to upgrade living conditions for workers and enhance basic civic infrastructure in labour residential areas.

According to an official press note, the authority has started renovation work in several worker housing complexes developed by the authority. The work includes structural repairs, plastering, plumbing upgrades, and maintenance of essential facilities such as toilets. In addition, repair work of internal roads and drainage systems within worker housing premises has also been initiated to improve overall living conditions.

The project is being implemented across key sectors, including Sector 66, Sector 93, Sector 110, and Sector 122, where a significant number of worker housing units are located. The initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring better living standards for the labour community.

In Sector 66, renovation work has commenced for approximately 900 worker housing units. According to visuals and details provided in the official document, the work includes repairing damaged structures, restoring basic amenities, and improving sanitation facilities. The images from the site show ongoing maintenance work aimed at restoring the buildings to functional and safe conditions.

Similarly, in Sector 93, renovation work has been initiated for around 2,040 worker housing units. This sector has one of the largest clusters of such housing, and the ongoing work is expected to significantly improve living conditions for a large number of residents. Site images indicate active repair work, including infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.

In Sector 110, approximately 960 worker housing units are undergoing renovation. The work focuses on repairing structural damages, improving sanitation systems, and ensuring that all essential services are functioning efficiently. The authority has prioritized these repairs to ensure that residents do not face inconvenience due to deteriorating infrastructure.

In Sector 122, the project includes renovation work for around 1,248 worker housing units along with 12 associated commercial shops. The inclusion of commercial units highlights the authority’s approach to improving not only residential infrastructure but also supporting local economic activity within these areas.

Officials stated that the renovation work is being carried out in a phased and systematic manner to ensure quality and timely completion. The initiative is expected to address long-standing issues related to infrastructure degradation in worker housing areas, including damaged buildings, poor sanitation, and inadequate drainage systems.

The authority has emphasized that improving worker housing is a key component of its broader urban development strategy. By upgrading these facilities, the administration aims to ensure that workers have access to safe, hygienic, and well-maintained living environments.

The initiative also aligns with the broader objective of recognizing the contribution of workers to the city’s development. Labour Day serves as an important occasion to highlight such efforts and reinforce the commitment toward worker welfare and inclusive urban growth.

Experts believe that improving housing conditions for workers has a direct impact on their health, productivity, and overall quality of life. Proper sanitation, safe structures, and reliable infrastructure are essential for creating a sustainable and livable urban environment.

The Noida Authority has indicated that further infrastructure upgrades may be undertaken in other sectors as part of ongoing efforts to modernize and maintain worker housing facilities. Regular monitoring and maintenance are also expected to be strengthened to prevent future deterioration.

The renovation drive is expected to benefit thousands of workers residing in these sectors, providing them with improved living conditions and better access to essential services. It also reflects the administration’s focus on balancing rapid urban development with social welfare and infrastructure sustainability.

With this initiative, the Noida Authority has taken a significant step toward enhancing worker welfare and ensuring that the city’s growth remains inclusive and sustainable.
