Noida: The newly appointed executive members of the Federation of Noida Residents’ Welfare Association (FONRWA) on Monday paid a courtesy visit to Noida MLA Pankaj Singh and presented before him a range of civic and development-related issues affecting residents across the city. The delegation urged the legislator to ensure early resolution of long-pending matters, stating that unresolved issues were impacting Noida’s overall development and quality of life.
During the interaction, the FONRWA delegation highlighted several concerns related to urban infrastructure, public transport, coordination with the Noida Authority, and issues faced by RWAs in different sectors. The meeting was aimed at strengthening coordination between elected representatives, residents’ bodies, and administrative agencies to ensure smoother implementation of development initiatives.
FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma informed the MLA that although meetings between RWAs and the Noida Authority had been held earlier on his directions, several key issues raised by resident associations were still pending. He said delays in addressing these matters were affecting civic amenities and hindering the planned growth of the city. Sharma emphasised that timely execution of decisions taken in RWA–Authority meetings was essential to ensure that residents’ concerns were effectively addressed on the ground.

FONRWA General Secretary K.K. Jain drew attention to the urgent need for improved public transport within Noida, particularly the introduction of electric city buses to connect various sectors. He pointed out that with rapid urban expansion and the development of new residential and commercial sectors, distances between older and newer sectors had increased significantly, ranging from 10 to 20 kilometres in many cases. In the absence of an efficient and affordable public transport system, residents were facing serious difficulties in commuting from one sector to another.
Jain said that reliance on private vehicles had increased due to the lack of adequate city bus services, contributing to traffic congestion and environmental concerns. He stressed that the operation of electric buses under the city bus service was crucial not only to improve connectivity but also to support sustainable and eco-friendly transport solutions in line with Noida’s growing urban needs. According to him, a well-planned electric bus network would benefit daily commuters, senior citizens, students, and working professionals alike.
Responding to the issues raised by the delegation, MLA Pankaj Singh assured FONRWA members that the concerns of residents would be addressed on priority. He stated that a review meeting involving RWAs and senior officials of the Noida Authority would be convened shortly to assess the status of pending works and to formulate a clear roadmap for their resolution. Singh said that residents’ welfare associations played a vital role in highlighting grassroots-level issues and that their feedback was essential for effective governance.
The MLA further assured the delegation that all problems raised by RWAs in the interest of residents would be taken up seriously and resolved in a time-bound manner. He emphasised the need for regular dialogue between public representatives, administrative अधिकारियों, and RWAs to ensure that development works translated into tangible benefits for citizens.
During the meeting, FONRWA also extended an invitation to the MLA to attend its oath-taking ceremony scheduled for December 21. Singh accepted the invitation and expressed his willingness to participate in the event, reiterating his support for resident-led initiatives aimed at improving civic life in Noida.
Several senior members of FONRWA were present during the meeting, including President Yogendra Sharma, General Secretary K.K. Jain, Senior Vice President Vijay Kumar Bhati, Ashok Kumar Mishra, Devendra Singh, Umashankar Sharma, Pradeep Vohra, Advocate Laat Sahab Lohiya, Sanjay Chauhan, Shyam Singh Yadav, Vinod Sharma, G.S. Sachdeva, Omveer Bansal, Koshinder Yadav, Rajesh Singh, Anuj Gupta, Anita, Bhushan Sharma, along with other members of the federation.
The meeting underscored the growing role of residents’ associations in urban governance and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between citizens’ groups and elected representatives to address civic challenges in a rapidly expanding city like Noida.
