A one-day training programme for Anganwadi workers was organised at the Child Development Project Office, Dankaur, under the joint aegis of the Women and Child Development Department and CRY NGO. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Women and Child Development Officer Sandhya Soni.
The objective of the training was to enhance the efficiency of Anganwadi workers and to make their services more effective, qualitative and result-oriented. Detailed discussions were held on the roles, responsibilities and duties of Anganwadi workers.
Special emphasis was laid on the issue of malnutrition during the programme. Participants were sensitised about the major causes of malnutrition, its adverse effects and preventive measures. Information regarding nutrition services provided under the Poshan 2.0 scheme for pregnant women, lactating mothers and children in the age group of 0 to 6 years was also shared in detail.
Training was imparted on maintaining digital records of beneficiaries through the Poshan Tracker application, monitoring the nutritional status of women and children, and ensuring transparency in service delivery. Anganwadi workers were informed about the importance of regular and accurate use of the Poshan Tracker.
Discussions were also held on strengthening Anganwadi centres under the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 initiatives, improving basic infrastructure and enhancing the quality of services. The programme further addressed the social issue of child marriage, highlighting its harmful consequences and encouraging participants to play an active role in its prevention through community awareness.
The importance of the Child Helpline number 1098 for the safety and support of children was explained, and participants were encouraged to use it whenever required.
Representatives from CRY NGO conducted the training through practical examples and addressed the queries raised by Anganwadi workers. Officials from the Women and Child Development Department urged the workers to effectively implement the knowledge gained during the training in their respective areas.
At the conclusion of the programme, Women and Child Development Officer Sandhya Soni appealed to all Anganwadi workers to ensure regular use of the Poshan Tracker, spread awareness to prevent malnutrition, actively work towards eliminating social evils like child marriage, and use Child Helpline 1098 whenever necessary.
A large number of Anganwadi workers participated in the programme and described it as informative and beneficial.
