06 March 2026, Noida.
A dispute during Holi celebrations in Noida turned tense after two groups in a residential society allegedly got into a heated argument that later escalated into a physical altercation. The incident reportedly took place in a housing society in Sector 79, where residents had gathered to celebrate the festival of colors.

According to preliminary information, the disagreement began while residents were playing Holi together in the society premises. What started as a verbal exchange quickly intensified, leading to pushing and physical confrontation between members of two groups. Videos of the incident soon began circulating widely on social media platforms, drawing attention to the clash.

One of the viral videos is said to be from Civitech Stadia Society in Sector 79, Noida. In the footage, several individuals can be seen arguing loudly before the situation turns into a scuffle. Some residents reportedly attempted to intervene and calm the situation, but the confrontation continued for a brief period before authorities were alerted.

Police officials reached the spot after receiving information about the altercation. After assessing the situation and identifying the people involved, officers detained around ten individuals for questioning and to prevent further escalation. Authorities stated that the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

In addition to the Sector 79 incident, another video that surfaced online is said to be from the Radha Sky Garden area in Greater Noida West. The footage shows a heated argument among residents during Holi celebrations, though officials are still verifying the circumstances surrounding the clip.

Local police officials said that Holi celebrations across the city were largely peaceful, but isolated incidents of disputes did occur in a few residential areas. They emphasized that immediate intervention by police teams helped prevent the situation from worsening in the Sector 79 case.

Residents of the society said that Holi celebrations had begun earlier in the day with music, colors, and gatherings among families and friends. However, a disagreement between a few participants reportedly triggered the altercation. Witnesses said that the argument initially appeared minor but escalated quickly as more people became involved.

Authorities have appealed to citizens to celebrate festivals responsibly and maintain harmony within residential communities. Police also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found disturbing public order or engaging in violence during festival celebrations.

Officials added that monitoring of social media videos is underway to verify details and identify those involved in the clashes. Statements from residents and eyewitnesses are also being recorded as part of the inquiry.

The police presence in the area was increased temporarily after the incident to ensure peace and reassure residents. Community representatives have also urged residents to avoid spreading rumors and to maintain mutual respect during festive gatherings.

Despite the incident, most Holi celebrations across Noida and Greater Noida concluded peacefully, with people enjoying the festival with traditional colors, music, and community gatherings. Authorities reiterated that festivals should remain occasions for joy, unity, and cultural celebration rather than conflict.
