An awareness vehicle was flagged off to inform citizens about the upcoming National Lok Adalat, which will be held across district and tehsil courts.

To raise awareness about the upcoming National Lok Adalat, District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority Atul Srivastava flagged off a publicity vehicle in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The initiative aims to inform citizens about the benefits and procedures of the Lok Adalat and encourage them to resolve their pending disputes through this platform. According to officials, the National Lok Adalat will be organized on March 14, 2026 from 10:00 am onwards. The Lok Adalat will be conducted at the district headquarters civil court as well as all tehsil courts in the district so that a large number of citizens can take advantage of this opportunity. Authorities believe that such initiatives help reduce the backlog of cases in courts while providing faster and easier access to justice for the public.
Disputes to Be Resolved Through Mutual Settlement
District Judge Atul Srivastava stated that the National Lok Adalat serves as an effective platform for resolving disputes through mutual agreement between parties. The process is simple, cost effective and helps litigants avoid lengthy legal proceedings. Through the Lok Adalat, parties can settle their disputes amicably and reach a mutually acceptable solution. He urged citizens to take maximum advantage of the upcoming Lok Adalat and resolve their pending cases through this mechanism.
Various Types of Cases to Be Considered
Several categories of cases will be taken up during the National Lok Adalat. These include cases related to the Motor Accident Compensation Act, matrimonial disputes, cases under the Indian Succession Act and other civil disputes. Matters related to the Negotiable Instruments Act and electronic traffic challans will also be considered for settlement. Officials said arbitration matters and minor compoundable cases may also be resolved through mutual agreement during the Lok Adalat proceedings.
Service, Labour and Bank Loan Cases Included
Cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which generally involve cheque bounce disputes, will also be addressed in the Lok Adalat. In addition, disputes related to the Electricity Act, land revenue matters, service related cases, pension issues and labour disputes will be taken up for settlement. Pre litigation cases involving bank loan disputes will also be resolved through mutual settlement to help citizens avoid prolonged legal processes.
The District Judge appealed to residents of the district to participate in the National Lok Adalat and take advantage of the opportunity to resolve their disputes quickly and efficiently. The initiative aims to make the justice delivery system more accessible and provide faster relief to citizens.
