Gautam Buddh Nagar, December 17, 2025:
In preparation for the upcoming electoral roll revision, the district administration held a detailed review meeting under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) and Deputy District Election Officer, Atul Kumar. The meeting, organized at the auditorium of IIMT Knowledge Park, Greater Noida, focused on the progress of the Special Intensive Revision of Assembly Constituency electoral rolls, based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2026.
All Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), zonal and sector magistrates, and supervisors attended the review. During the meeting, the Deputy District Election Officer highlighted that, in accordance with the schedule set by the Election Commission of India, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been distributing electoral forms door-to-door from November 4, 2025, to December 26, 2025. The forms collected are being digitized and mapped systematically, ensuring comprehensive updates to the electoral rolls.
Key activities discussed included adding names of new eligible voters, removing deceased or migrated voters, and updating name and address corrections. The AERO list is being reviewed to ensure that all revisions are accurate and up to date. The Deputy District Election Officer also issued clear instructions to EROs, zonal and sector magistrates, and supervisors to resolve all logical and ASD (Automated Sampling Data) discrepancies in the rolls efficiently. Allocation of discrepancies for resolution will be managed collaboratively among officials to ensure timely, organized, and effective corrective action.
The officer also announced that another “Booth Day” will be held over the upcoming Saturday and Sunday. During this event, all BLOs are required to be present at their respective booths, and suggestions, objections, or claims submitted by recognized political parties will be addressed on-site.
Strict adherence to monitoring was emphasized, with instructions that any negligence or lapses in the revision process would result in strict action against the responsible personnel. Officials were directed to coordinate closely and ensure quick resolution of field-level issues. The administration underscored the importance of completing all activities within the stipulated timeline, maintaining transparency, fairness, and high-quality standards to produce a fully accurate and updated electoral roll for the district.
This initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to ensuring an error-free, transparent, and comprehensive electoral process, strengthening the integrity and accuracy of voter registration ahead of future elections.
