New Delhi, December 17, 2025:
In a major boost to sustainable public transport and regional connectivity, the Delhi Government is set to inaugurate a new fully electric interstate bus service between Dhaula Kuan in Delhi and Dharuhera in Haryana. The launch, led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and in the presence of Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, will also see 100 new electric buses added to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) fleet. The initiative aims to strengthen clean mobility, improve last-mile connectivity, reduce congestion, and lower vehicular emissions along high-demand corridors.
The new Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera e-bus service builds on the success of previous fully electric interstate routes, including Maharana Pratap ISBT–Baraut (Uttar Pradesh) and Maharana Pratap ISBT–Sonipat (Haryana), launched under the current Delhi Government. The route will pass through key locations including Dhaula Kuan, HR Rajokri Border, Gurugram, Kherki Daula, Rampura, Manesar, Panchgaon, Vyaspur YNR, Sidhrawali, and Dharuhera, serving daily commuters such as office-goers, students, and industrial workers along the corridor.
Under the new service, DTC will operate three electric buses per shift, offering commuters a safe, reliable, comfortable, and cost-effective alternative to private vehicles. The service will run on a fixed timetable, ensuring convenient travel during peak and non-peak hours. From Dhaula Kuan to Dharuhera, buses will depart at 06:30, 07:00, 07:30, 14:45, 15:15, and 15:45 hours. In the reverse direction from Dharuhera to Dhaula Kuan, buses will operate at 09:45, 10:15, 10:45, 18:00, 18:30, and 19:00 hours.
The addition of 100 new electric buses to the DTC fleet further reinforces Delhi’s commitment to modern, environmentally friendly public transport. These low-floor, air-conditioned buses are equipped with modern passenger amenities including CCTV cameras, panic buttons, real-time vehicle tracking systems, and accessibility features for persons with disabilities, ensuring enhanced commuter safety and convenience.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said, “Tomorrow’s launch marks an important step in expanding clean, reliable, and affordable public transport. The Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera electric bus service, along with the addition of 100 new e-buses, reflects our government’s focus on improving last-mile connectivity, reducing pollution, and providing safer and modern travel options for citizens. DTC will continue to strengthen interstate electric mobility on routes with growing demand.”
The launch is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters in and around Dharuhera, Manesar, and Gurugram while ensuring seamless connectivity to Delhi via Dhaula Kuan. By encouraging a shift from private vehicles to electric buses, the initiative will also help reduce traffic congestion and emissions along the Delhi–Gurugram–Manesar–Dharuhera corridor, while boosting DTC’s interstate ridership and revenue on this high-demand route.
This expansion of interstate electric bus services aligns with DTC’s long-term vision under the Green Delhi Mission, promoting sustainable mobility and supporting the economic and social integration of Delhi with neighboring states. The new service represents a step forward in Delhi’s transition to cleaner, greener, and more accessible public transport solutions.
