Noida, December 17, 2025:
A grand Shrimad Bhagwat Katha commenced on Wednesday at Shani Maidan in Sector 19, Noida, under the aegis of Bharat Vikas Parishad, marking the beginning of a seven-day spiritual congregation dedicated to devotion, knowledge and inner awakening. The religious event witnessed a large turnout of devotees from Noida and nearby areas, transforming the venue into a vibrant centre of spiritual fervour.

The formal inauguration of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha followed a massive Kalash Shobha Yatra that was organised a day earlier, on December 16. The procession saw enthusiastic participation from women devotees, members of Bharat Vikas Parishad, office bearers, social representatives and local residents. Carrying sacred pots, the participants moved through the city in a devotional atmosphere, chanting hymns and devotional slogans, setting the spiritual tone for the week-long discourse.
Renowned Bhagwat Katha exponent and Bhagwat Ratna Acharya Mridul Krishna Goswami from Vrindavan delivered the opening discourse. Addressing the gathering, he remarked that with the commencement of the Katha, Noida had spiritually transformed into Vrindavan Dham. He said that for the next seven days, an uninterrupted flow of devotion and divine bliss would envelop the city, allowing devotees to immerse themselves fully in spiritual contemplation.
Explaining the spiritual significance of the Shrimad Bhagwat, Acharya Mridul Krishna Goswami described it as the very verbal manifestation of Lord Krishna. He said the sacred text imparts the core values of devotion, wisdom and renunciation, guiding humanity towards liberation. Elaborating on the meaning of the word ‘Bhagwat’, he explained that each letter carries deep symbolism. According to him, ‘Bha’ illuminates the darkness of worldly existence, ‘Ga’ provides momentum and direction to life, ‘Va’ signifies the supremacy of the Shrimad Bhagwat among all Puranas, and ‘Ta’ represents salvation, assuring that those who seek refuge in Bhagwat cross the ocean of worldly existence.

Drawing a distinction between the Shrimad Bhagwat and the Bhagavad Gita, the Katha Vyas explained that while both are sacred, their essence and context differ. He said the Shrimad Bhagwat is the embodiment of Lord Krishna himself, whereas the Bhagavad Gita is the divine discourse spoken by Lord Krishna. He described the Bhagavad Gita as a scripture of yogic discipline, the Ramayana as a scripture of practical conduct, and the Shrimad Bhagwat as a scripture of divine separation and longing. He added that although birth and death are inevitable for all beings, mere listening to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha enables one to transcend the cycle of birth and death and attain liberation.
Acharya Goswami further said that the Shrimad Bhagwat is a scripture filled entirely with divine nectar, without any dryness or hardship. He noted that Lord Banke Bihari is pleased by two offerings above all—chandan (sandalwood paste) and vandan (devotional reverence). Those who offer both with devotion, he said, are freed from all worldly bonds.
The discourse was interspersed with soulful bhajans and devotional hymns, which captivated the audience. Devotees were seen swaying, dancing and immersing themselves in devotion, visibly moved by the spiritual atmosphere created by the narration and music.
The event was attended by several prominent members of Bharat Vikas Parishad and the local community. Parishad President Devendra Gangal was present along with chief hosts Sushila Goyal, Ved Prakash Goyal and Vinay Goyal. Other notable attendees included Pankaj Jindal, Alpesh Garg, K.K. Bansal, Ram Ratan Sharma and several social and religious figures.
The seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is expected to continue drawing large crowds, offering devotees an opportunity to engage in spiritual reflection, devotional music and collective worship in a serene and uplifting environment.
