Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 30, 2026:
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gautam Buddh Nagar, has announced that a National Lok Adalat will be organised across the district on May 9, 2026, at both the district headquarters and tehsil-level courts. The initiative is being conducted in compliance with the directions of the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of the District Judge of Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Shivani Rawat, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, informed that the Lok Adalat will provide a platform for resolving a wide range of disputes through mutual settlement. The objective of the initiative is to ensure speedy, cost-effective, and amicable resolution of cases, thereby reducing the burden on courts and promoting access to justice.
According to officials, several categories of cases will be taken up during the Lok Adalat. These include compoundable criminal cases, family disputes, cases related to the Motor Vehicles Act, matters concerning electricity and water dues, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, land revenue disputes, service-related matters, and pre-litigation cases. In addition, other disputes that can be resolved through mutual consent between parties will also be considered.
The Lok Adalat mechanism is designed to facilitate settlement through dialogue and compromise, allowing parties to resolve their disputes without prolonged litigation. Decisions taken in Lok Adalat are binding on both parties and help avoid lengthy legal proceedings.
Officials emphasized that individuals involved in eligible cases are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to settle disputes in a quick and efficient manner. The initiative is particularly beneficial for those seeking a faster resolution without incurring additional legal expenses.
Authorities believe that the upcoming National Lok Adalat will play a significant role in promoting alternative dispute resolution and ensuring that justice is delivered in a timely and accessible manner.
The administration has urged all concerned parties to participate actively and make use of this platform to resolve their cases amicably.
