Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 30, 2026:
Preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled on May 9, 2026, are underway in Gautam Buddh Nagar, with authorities taking steps to ensure its smooth and effective conduct across the district. The Lok Adalat will be organised at both the district headquarters and tehsil levels in compliance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, as well as the District Judge of Gautam Buddh Nagar.
As part of these preparations, a review meeting was held under the chairpersonship of Shivani Rawat, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gautam Buddh Nagar. The meeting was attended by officials associated with the summon cell, focusing on ensuring efficient execution of responsibilities related to the upcoming Lok Adalat.
During the meeting, detailed instructions were issued to ensure the timely and effective service of summons to concerned parties. Officials were directed to maximize the number of summons served in advance so that a higher number of cases can be taken up and resolved during the Lok Adalat. Emphasis was placed on coordination and accountability to avoid delays in the process.

The Secretary also stressed the importance of widespread awareness regarding the National Lok Adalat. Awareness campaigns are expected to help increase participation and ensure that maximum cases are settled amicably.
The National Lok Adalat is a significant initiative aimed at reducing the burden on courts by facilitating the settlement of disputes through mutual agreement. It provides a platform for resolving cases quickly, cost-effectively, and without prolonged litigation. Cases related to civil disputes, compoundable criminal matters, motor accident claims, family disputes, and other pending or pre-litigation matters are typically taken up during these sessions.
Officials highlighted that the success of the Lok Adalat largely depends on timely communication with parties involved in cases. Therefore, ensuring proper service of summons is a key component of the preparation process.
