Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 14, 2026 — The National Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated at the District Court auditorium in Gautam Buddh Nagar by Allahabad High Court Justice and Administrative Judge of the district Ajit Kumar by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by District Judge Atul Srivastava, Principal Judge Ramkesh, Presiding Officer Sunil Kumar Srivastava, Commercial Court Presiding Officer Jagdish Prasad, Presiding Officer Vatsal Srivastava, Additional District Judge-II and Special Judge (SC/ST Act) and Nodal Officer for National Lok Adalat Somprabha Mishra, and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Shivani Tyagi.
Also present were Bar Association President Manoj Bhati, Secretary Shobharam Chandela, judicial officers, advocates, and officials from the district administration and police department.

Lok Adalat Important Tool for Quick Justice
Addressing the gathering, Justice Ajit Kumar highlighted the importance of the National Lok Adalat, stating that it is a powerful and effective mechanism in the judicial system that enables amicable settlement of disputes through mutual agreement.
He emphasized that Lok Adalats help ensure simple, speedy and harmonious resolution of cases, thereby reducing the burden on regular courts.
The judge urged officers, advocates and court staff to work with commitment and coordination to ensure the success of the National Lok Adalat so that a larger number of cases can be resolved.

Inspection of Public Welfare Stalls and Facilities
After the inauguration ceremony, Justice Ajit Kumar and District Judge Atul Srivastava inaugurated various public welfare stalls set up by different departments and institutions in the district court premises.
They inspected the stalls and interacted with officials to learn about the schemes and services being provided. The visiting dignitaries also encouraged citizens and beneficiaries to take advantage of these government welfare initiatives.

Visit to Health Camp and Court Infrastructure
During his visit to the court complex, Justice Ajit Kumar inspected the facilities available on the premises and interacted with concerned officials regarding various arrangements.
He also visited a health camp organised within the court premises, where he himself underwent a blood pressure check-up and encouraged people present there to adopt a healthy lifestyle and undergo regular health check-ups.
Inauguration of E-Service and VC Centres
The administrative judge also inaugurated the E-Service Centre and Video Conferencing (VC) Centre established in the district court complex.
In addition, the new gate and guard room constructed at the Civil and Criminal Bar Association were also inaugurated.
During the visit, the judge reviewed the facilities available for advocates and litigants and appreciated the arrangements. He noted that such infrastructure improvements would enhance transparency and efficiency in judicial work.
Senior officials present on the occasion included Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar, DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi, DCP Ashok Kumar Nim, and Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Manglesh Dubey, along with other officials.
The event concluded with officials reiterating their commitment to strengthening access to justice through the effective implementation of the National Lok Adalat system.
