Cleanliness Rally and Awareness Campaign Organised
Greater Noida Authority organised a cleanliness rally and awareness campaign in Badalpur village on Saturday as part of its initiative to develop the village as a Zero Waste model. The programme was conducted with the objective of educating villagers about the importance of cleanliness and scientific waste management at the household and community level.
The rally focused on creating awareness among residents regarding segregation of wet and dry waste at the source. Officials and volunteers explained that if waste is segregated at home itself and disposed of properly, villages can significantly reduce environmental pollution and gradually be transformed into Zero Waste communities.

Focus on Wet and Dry Waste Segregation
During the rally, villagers were informed that separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at home plays a crucial role in efficient waste processing. The participants highlighted how wet waste can be composted while dry waste can be recycled, thereby reducing the burden on landfills.
Residents were encouraged to adopt sustainable waste disposal practices in their daily lives. The awareness drive emphasised that proper waste segregation not only helps maintain cleanliness but also contributes to public health and environmental conservation.
Cleanliness Drive Conducted After Rally
Following the cleanliness rally, a dedicated cleanliness drive was undertaken behind the village library. The campaign was conducted by the Feedback Foundation team with the support of sanitation workers. The exercise aimed to demonstrate collective responsibility towards maintaining clean public spaces.
Officials from the Health Department of Greater Noida Authority actively participated in the drive, along with village residents, sanitation workers, and members of the Feedback Foundation. The joint participation reflected a coordinated approach towards community cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

Community Participation and Awareness Building
Villagers were urged not to throw garbage in open areas around their homes and public places. They were motivated to take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and hygienic. Officials explained that open dumping of waste poses serious risks to health, water sources, and biodiversity.
The campaign stressed that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of government authorities but a shared duty of every citizen. Community participation was highlighted as the key factor in ensuring long-term success of cleanliness and waste management initiatives.
Message of Collective Responsibility
Throughout the campaign, a strong message was delivered to the community that maintaining cleanliness requires consistent effort and cooperation from all sections of society. Residents were informed that disciplined waste management habits could significantly improve the quality of life in the village.
Special emphasis was placed on behavioural change, encouraging villagers to develop habits of waste segregation, timely disposal, and regular cleanliness around their households.
Villagers Take Pledge for Zero Waste Badalpur
At the conclusion of the programme, villagers collectively took a pledge to maintain cleanliness in their village. They committed to segregating waste at source, avoiding littering, and actively contributing towards making Badalpur a clean and Zero Waste village.
The Greater Noida Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such initiatives through continuous awareness, infrastructure support, and collaboration with community organisations. The campaign marked another step towards sustainable rural development and environmental stewardship in the region.
