Gautam Buddh Nagar, February 2026
Under the directives of the High Court of Allahabad, a comprehensive inspection of Government Juvenile Homes for boys and girls was conducted in Gautam Buddh Nagar today. The inspection was held under the guidance of the District Judge and chaired by the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Shivani Tyagi. Present were Chief Magistrate Abhishek Kumar and members Mahendra Singh and Arun Kumar Gupta of the Juvenile Justice Board.
During the inspection, officials reviewed the number of children residing in the homes, their ongoing cases, educational activities, and skill development programs. The Government Juvenile Home for boys houses 101 juveniles from various districts, the girls’ juvenile home accommodates 13 minor girls under care, and the Balika Home hosts 199 girls along with 13 infants.
The primary objective was to ensure child safety, evaluate living standards, and assess the developmental activities being implemented. Officials checked the care, educational facilities, health services, and skill development programs available to children. Records were examined to confirm that children’s cases were managed appropriately and that there were no lapses in safety or welfare.
Deficiencies identified during the inspection were addressed, and the responsible assistants of the homes were given detailed instructions. Authorities emphasized strengthening security measures, safeguarding children’s rights, and promoting both their mental and physical development.
Health services, food, hygiene, and recreational facilities were thoroughly checked to ensure adequate provision. Educational and skill development activities were reviewed to ensure children receive proper training to become self-reliant and confident in the future.
District officials instructed staff to conduct regular inspections and take immediate corrective action whenever gaps are observed. Child safety, health, and education were highlighted as the top priorities.
The inspection, conducted under the High Court’s directives, serves as a significant step in protecting children’s rights and ensuring that residents of juvenile and girls’ homes live in a safe and developmentally supportive environment.
