With Holi approaching, the Food Safety and Drug Administration, under the guidance of the District Magistrate, has intensified inspections across the district to ensure residents have access to pure and safe food products. The initiative aims to protect public health during the festive season and guarantee that food sold in the market meets prescribed quality standards.

Assistant Commissioner Food II, Sarvesh Mishra, stated that today, food safety officers Mukesh Kumar, Ravindra Nath Verma, and Vijay Bahadur Patel’s team inspected Shyam Traders located in Aichar Market, Greater Noida. They discovered approximately 315 kg of Harid Darshan refined rice bran cooking oil stored in 21 reused tins. One sample was collected for testing, and the remaining 313 kg of oil was sealed. Additionally, one liter sample of Gopi brand refined rice bran oil was collected from 84 bottles, while the remaining 80 liters were sealed.
Similarly, a paneer sample was collected from Albert Pintu Restaurant at Ayetham Galleria Alpha 2, Greater Noida. Food safety officers O.P. Singh and S.K. Pandey collected a sample of rasgulla from Chaudhary Food Plaza in Chhalera Sector-44, and approximately 10 kg of contaminated rasgulla was destroyed. In total, four food samples were sent to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
The Assistant Commissioner confirmed that inspections and sample collection will continue regularly under the District Magistrate’s directives. The campaign ensures that residents consume safe food products and that vendors comply with government regulations.
The District Magistrate also emphasized that any violations identified during inspections will lead to immediate legal action. The initiative is designed to protect public health not only during Holi but throughout the year.
Food safety officers utilized modern techniques and standardized procedures for sample collection and analysis. Detailed reports of the collected samples were prepared and sent to laboratories to ensure accurate testing. The initiative also included public awareness measures to educate residents about food safety, hygiene, and legal standards.
This campaign is crucial in promoting food safety and public health awareness across the district. Ahead of Holi, authorities have ensured that food products available in the market are safe, hygienic, and compliant with prescribed quality standards.
