Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 10, 2026
In response to the industrial unrest that had emerged in the district, a high-level meeting was convened to ensure a peaceful resolution through dialogue between workers and employers. Representatives of workers’ unions and management bodies from major industrial units, including M/s Rainbow Fabart, Paramount Fashion and Styles, Richa Global, Sahu Export, and Anubhav Apparels, participated in the discussions.
The meeting was conducted under the direction of the District Magistrate, with active mediation by the Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dadri, and senior police officials. Acting on instructions from the Police Commissioner, senior officers including the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, facilitated the dialogue between both sides to ensure a balanced and fair outcome.
Through structured and amicable discussions between selected representatives of workers and factory management, a consensus was reached on several key issues, bringing an end to the unrest and restoring normalcy in the industrial environment.
Key Demands Raised by Workers
During the meeting, workers presented their primary demands, focusing on wage structure, working conditions, and workplace dignity. They demanded an increase in wages in line with the Haryana government model, highlighting disparities in compensation. Workers also sought double payment for overtime work, emphasizing fair remuneration for extended working hours.
Other major demands included provision of weekly holidays for all workers, timely and rule-based payment of bonuses, and strict measures to prevent harassment of female workers while ensuring respectful behavior at the workplace. Workers also stressed the need for an effective grievance redressal mechanism and demanded that no punitive action be taken against worker representatives involved in raising these concerns.
Management Agrees to Key Worker Concerns
Following discussions, the management agreed to several important conditions aimed at improving working conditions and addressing worker grievances. It was decided that from April 11, 2026, overtime work will be compensated at double the standard rate. Additionally, all workers will be entitled to weekly holidays, and in cases where work is assigned on Sundays, payment will be made at double rates.
Management also agreed to ensure that bonus payments are made to all workers by November 30 as per applicable rules, directly into their bank accounts. To address workplace safety and dignity, it was decided that every factory will establish a committee to prevent sexual harassment, with mandatory monthly meetings to review complaints and ensure compliance.
Furthermore, each factory will install complaint boxes, allowing workers to submit grievances easily. Management committed to ensuring necessary workplace facilities and maintaining proper arrangements to support employees.
Assurances on Job Security and Non-Retaliation
One of the critical concerns of workers regarding job security was also addressed during the meeting. Management assured that no termination or punitive action will be taken against worker representatives who participated in the discussions. In unavoidable circumstances, any such action will only be taken with prior approval from the district administration.
It was also agreed that no retaliatory or oppressive action will be initiated by management against workers in relation to the recent agitation. To ensure transparency, all agreed points will be displayed on notice boards in respective factories for awareness and compliance.
Administrative Intervention Ensures Peaceful Resolution
The Additional Labour Commissioner, Gautam Buddh Nagar, assured that the demand for wage revision will be forwarded to higher authorities for consideration at the appropriate level. This step is expected to address one of the core issues raised by workers in the long term.
Worker representatives, in turn, assured the administration that all workers would return home peacefully and resume their duties from April 11, 2026, as before. The assurance played a key role in restoring normalcy and preventing escalation of tensions.
Senior officials from the district and police administration remained present throughout the discussions, ensuring that the dialogue remained constructive and focused on resolution. Their coordinated efforts helped in bridging the gap between workers and management effectively.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, the situation in the district has been reported as completely peaceful. The successful mediation highlights the importance of timely administrative intervention and open dialogue in resolving industrial disputes.
