The District Congress Committee of Gautam Buddh Nagar celebrated the 141st Foundation Day of the Indian National Congress with a grand and dignified programme at the District Congress Office in Greater Noida West, Bisrakh. The event highlighted the party’s illustrious history, commitment to democracy, the Constitution, and social justice, while placing special emphasis on women empowerment.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the Congress flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem and Vande Mataram. Party members present at the event took a pledge to protect the unity, integrity, and Constitution of India.
Addressing the gathering, District Congress President Deepak Bhati Chotiwala said that the Indian National Congress has played a historic role from India’s freedom struggle to the building of modern India. He emphasized that the Constitution, democracy, secularism, and social harmony are the essence of the Congress party. He noted that in a time when democratic institutions face attempts to weaken, Congress continues to act as the voice of the people.

Speaking on women empowerment, Bhati Chotiwala stated that women are the backbone of Indian society and that Congress has consistently worked to provide leadership, respect, and rights to women. From Indira Gandhi to the present, Congress has promoted women to decisive roles. He said the programme serves as a tribute to women’s contributions and achievements.
During the event, women who have made notable contributions in social service, education, and public welfare were honoured, including Rani Devi, Dr. Itika, Chef Chhaya Sarkar, entrepreneur Rani Singh, Preeti Ranjan Singh, meritorious student Varsha Singh, Kusum Singh Valmiki, Sunita Valmiki, entrepreneur Akanksha, Archana Sharma, among others. The honourees shared their experiences and praised Congress for its initiatives in favour of women.

Speakers highlighted that Congress is the political party that has consistently provided women with opportunities from Panchayat to Parliament, ensuring reservation, safety, education, and empowerment. They stressed the need to further organize women to strengthen the country socially and economically.
