Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 24, 2026:
The district administration has announced that free foodgrain distribution under the National Food Security Act 2013 (NFSA) will be carried out across Gautam Buddh Nagar from April 24 to May 8, 2026. The initiative aims to ensure food security for Antyodaya and eligible household ration card holders in the district.
According to the District Supply Officer, essential commodities including wheat and rice allocated for May 2026 will be distributed free of cost during the specified period. The distribution will take place daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM through e-POS machines, ensuring Aadhaar-based authentication for beneficiaries.
Under the scheme, Antyodaya cardholders will receive 35 kilograms of foodgrain per card, comprising 21 kg of wheat and 14 kg of rice. Eligible household (PHH) beneficiaries will receive 5 kilograms of foodgrain per unit, including 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice.
The administration has also highlighted that beneficiaries covered under the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme can avail ration from any fair price shop within the district, even if they are registered in another district or state. This portability feature is expected to benefit migrant workers residing in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
To ensure transparency and smooth distribution, nodal officers will conduct physical verification of foodgrain stock at fair price shops and oversee the process. Officials have emphasized that strict monitoring mechanisms are in place to prevent irregularities.
The final date for distribution has been set as May 8, 2026. On the last day, beneficiaries who are unable to complete Aadhaar authentication will be provided foodgrain through mobile OTP verification. Additionally, fair price shop dealers have been instructed to provide printed receipts generated from e-POS machines to every beneficiary as proof of distribution.
The administration has appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to collect their entitled foodgrain within the stipulated time frame from their nearest fair price shop. In case of any issues or grievances, beneficiaries can contact the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of their respective tehsil, the District Supply Officer, Regional Food Officer, or Supply Inspector.
For further assistance, complaints can also be registered through toll-free helpline numbers 1967 and 1800-1800-150.
The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to ensuring food security and supporting economically vulnerable sections of society through efficient and transparent distribution systems.
