Noida, March 13, 2026:
The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) carried out a demolition drive against illegal construction on notified land in village Sorha Jahidabad. The action was undertaken by the authority’s Work Circle-6 and Land Records Department with support from the authority’s police force.
According to the press note issued by the authority, the demolition was conducted on land identified under Khasra numbers 769 and 770, where unauthorized construction activities were being carried out. The illegal structure involved the construction of a boundary wall and sheds using RCC columns.
Demolition Conducted on 9,000 Square Metres of Land
Officials stated that the demolition operation covered an area of approximately 9,000 square metres. The estimated value of the illegal construction that was removed during the operation was around ₹40 crore.
Authorities confirmed that the action was taken after repeated warnings were issued to the encroachers involved in the unauthorized construction. Despite receiving several notices from the authority, the individuals responsible for the encroachment did not stop the construction work.
As a result, the authority initiated demolition proceedings and removed the RCC columns and related construction structures from the site. The action was carried out in the presence of officials and enforcement teams to ensure compliance with development regulations.
Notices Issued Before Enforcement Action
According to the authority’s statement, multiple notices had been served to the encroachers before the demolition drive was conducted. However, the construction work continued despite these warnings.
Due to the failure of the encroachers to halt the activity voluntarily, the authority decided to proceed with enforcement action. The demolition targeted the unauthorized RCC column structures and foundation work that had been developed on the notified land.
Officials stated that such actions are necessary to prevent illegal encroachments and to protect land designated for planned development under the authority’s jurisdiction.
Warning Issued to the Public
The authority also issued a warning to the general public regarding land transactions in the area. Citizens have been advised not to purchase or sell land falling under the specified Khasra numbers without verifying its legal status.
Officials cautioned that land mafias often attempt to mislead buyers into purchasing land that is part of government-notified areas. Residents have therefore been urged to exercise caution and avoid dealing with unauthorized sellers.
The authority clarified that development activities in the area will be carried out strictly according to the approved planning framework of the Noida Authority.
Efforts to Prevent Illegal Encroachment
Officials emphasized that strict enforcement measures will continue against illegal construction and encroachments within the authority’s jurisdiction. The authority reiterated that it remains committed to protecting public land and ensuring that development in the region takes place in accordance with approved master plans and regulations.
The demolition drive in Sorha Jahidabad is part of ongoing efforts by the Noida Authority to curb unauthorized construction and prevent illegal occupation of notified land. Authorities stated that similar action will be taken in the future against any individuals or groups found violating development rules or attempting to encroach on public land.
