In a significant step towards strengthening student healthcare and supporting academic well-being, a free eye check-up camp was organised at Savitribai Phule Balika Inter College in Greater Noida. The initiative aimed to identify vision-related problems at an early stage and provide timely medical support, ensuring that students do not face difficulties in studies or daily activities due to undiagnosed eye conditions.

The camp was organised on the initiative of the Greater Noida Authority, with support from Eye Care Hospital, located in Sector-26, Noida, and India Yamaha Motor Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility school screening programme. A team of qualified medical professionals conducted comprehensive eye examinations within the school premises.
During the camp, eye examinations were conducted for 129 girl students. Of these, 16 students were found to require corrective spectacles. The hospital authorities confirmed that free spectacles would be provided to all identified students to support their vision and educational needs. Additionally, four students were referred to the hospital for further medical treatment, which will also be provided free of cost.
Medical experts highlighted that regular eye screening during school years is crucial, as many vision problems develop gradually without noticeable symptoms. Early detection through such camps helps prevent long-term complications and ensures better academic performance and overall well-being.

Officials from the Greater Noida Authority stated that ensuring access to basic healthcare facilities for students, especially girls, remains a key priority. Along with infrastructure development, the authority is committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of children. Similar eye check-up camps will be organised in other government schools across the district in the coming period.
The school administration appreciated the initiative, stating that health-focused programmes like these play an important role in building students’ confidence and improving learning outcomes. Good vision, they noted, is essential for classroom participation and long-term educational success.
The eye check-up camp stands as a strong example of collaborative social responsibility involving public authorities, healthcare institutions and the private sector. Such initiatives contribute significantly towards building a healthier, more inclusive and empowered society.
