Gautam Buddh Nagar | February , 2026
A district-wide special Measles–Rubella (MR) vaccination drive will be conducted from February 16 to February 27, 2026, to protect children from highly infectious diseases. The campaign is being implemented in accordance with government directions and aims to cover all students from Class 1 to Class 5, approximately in the five to ten years age group.
Under the campaign, special vaccination sessions will be organized in all government and private schools across Gautam Buddh Nagar. During these sessions, children will be administered an additional dose of the MR vaccine to strengthen immunity and reduce the risk of future infections.
Health officials have highlighted that measles and rubella pose serious public health challenges. Measles can lead to complications such as pneumonia and malnutrition, while rubella can cause severe congenital disorders if contracted during pregnancy. Timely vaccination is therefore considered essential to prevent outbreaks and long-term health consequences.
Schools will coordinate closely with health department teams to ensure smooth implementation of the vaccination schedule. Parents will be informed in advance about the vaccination dates so that maximum coverage can be achieved.
The vaccine will be provided completely free of cost and has been declared safe for children. Trained healthcare workers will administer the vaccine following all prescribed safety protocols. Post-vaccination observation arrangements will also be in place to address any immediate concerns.
Parents have been urged to cooperate fully and ensure their children participate in the campaign. Authorities have emphasized that collective participation is crucial to eliminate measles and rubella from the community and safeguard public health.
