– PGM holds meeting; directs agencies to plant Calendula at roundabouts and central verges within 5 days
– Flower show to be organised at City Park on 26, 27, 28 February and 01 March
Greater Noida: Residents of Greater Noida will soon witness vibrant Calendula flowers blooming at roundabouts, green belts and central verges across the city. This year, the Greater Noida Authority has selected Calendula as the theme flower for the upcoming flower exhibition. In line with the directions of CEO NG Ravi Kumar, the Horticulture Department is now preparing to plant the theme flower across major roads and prominent roundabouts in Greater Noida.
On Friday, Principal General Manager Sandeep Chandra held a meeting with agencies responsible for adopted green belts, central verges and roundabouts. The Principal General Manager issued clear instructions to the representatives of these agencies to plant Calendula at all adopted roundabouts, green belts and central verges so that the flowers can bloom before the scheduled flower exhibition at City Park on 26, 27, 28 February and 01 March. A time limit of five days has been set for completing this work.
The Horticulture Department will conduct regular monitoring to ensure compliance. Agencies found negligent will face action as per rules.
Sandeep Chandra informed that in Greater Noida, 40 roundabouts, 45 green belts and 17 central verges have been given on adoption. The agencies responsible for these areas have been instructed to plant Calendula within the stipulated time.
The meeting was attended by Deputy General Manager SK Jain, Senior Manager Ramkumar and Ajitbhai Patel, among others.
