New Delhi, December 30, 2025:
In a joint press conference held at the Delhi Secretariat, Ministers Ashish Sood and Kapil Mishra strongly criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for allegedly spreading false claims and misleading narratives to disrupt Delhi’s social fabric. Addressing media representatives, Ashish Sood said AAP leaders, including Delhi MP Sanjay Singh, continue to propagate misinformation even ten months after their electoral defeat, attempting to create a hostile environment in the city through social media campaigns.
Highlighting recent instances, Sood cited AAP’s claim that Delhi school teachers were being assigned to count stray dogs as “completely false.” He challenged the party to produce any official circular to substantiate this claim, asserting that spreading such lies will not restore their lost political credibility. Sood also criticised AAP for misleading the public regarding the suspension of tahsildars and sub-registrars, questioning the party’s apparent support for corrupt practices during its tenure in governance.
Sood further addressed misinformation related to DSSSB recruitment, stating that AAP falsely claimed matters like age-limit extensions for students were under the central government’s jurisdiction, whereas the Delhi Government holds authority over these non-gazetted posts. He accused AAP of failing to govern effectively during its tenure, relying instead on falsehoods and sensationalism to gain public attention, while their education policies and models had already been rejected by the people of Delhi.
Kapil Mishra echoed these criticisms, accusing AAP of a decade-long reliance on false narratives to maintain political power. He warned that repeating the same tactics that led to their electoral defeat will prevent the party from regaining public trust. Mishra asserted that corruption, bribery, and illegal practices will no longer be tolerated in Delhi under the current government. He confirmed that the disciplinary action taken against two officials will serve as a precedent for strict action against any officer attempting misconduct or extortion.
The ministers also outlined the agenda for the upcoming Winter Session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, beginning January 5, 2026. The four-day session will focus on key issues, including a detailed discussion on pollution, environmental challenges, and the government’s initiatives to tackle them. Scientific assessments, historical trends over the past two decades, and government responsibilities regarding Delhi’s environment will be tabled.
In addition, Mishra stated that reports related to the Sheesh Mahal corruption case, as well as the detailed CAG report on Delhi Jal Board, covering issues of sewerage, water management, and administrative irregularities up to 2022, will be presented in the Assembly. Reports concerning irregularities in Delhi University and other higher education institutions will also be made public during the session.
The ministers stressed that the government is committed to transparency, holding accountable those responsible for past corruption, and addressing pressing issues such as environmental degradation and public service inefficiencies, while countering misinformation spread by opposition parties.
This session marks the government’s intent to provide comprehensive accountability and update the public on the state of governance, environmental policy, and administrative reforms in Delhi.
