New Delhi | January 8, 2026:
Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Thursday issued a strong warning against using derogatory remarks targeting saints, emphasizing that such behavior will neither be spared nor forgiven. Speaking to the media at the Delhi Assembly premises, Singh directly addressed the opposition while highlighting the government’s commitment to protecting Indian culture, traditions, and Sanatan values.

Ravinder Indraj Singh said that saints have dedicated and sacrificed their lives for the protection of the nation and religion. He underscored that any objectionable comment or disrespect directed toward them is condemnable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Minister reiterated that the government is determined to take strict action against anyone who hurts the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma.

Turning to the issue of pollution, the Minister criticized the Leader of Opposition for avoiding substantive discussions on a matter of public importance. Singh stated that the people of Delhi can clearly observe the Leader of Opposition’s lack of seriousness toward a critical issue like pollution. According to him, while the present government has taken decisive steps to discuss and implement solutions to tackle pollution, the opposition has chosen political diversion over public welfare. He pointed out that instead of engaging in constructive debate, the Leader of Opposition went on a Goa tour, demonstrating a focus on political agendas rather than addressing the citizens’ concerns.

On the issue of encroachments, Ravinder Indraj Singh remarked that politicizing the removal of illegal structures is entirely inappropriate. He stated that promoting encroachments, whether in the name of religion or for personal interests, cannot be justified under any circumstances. The Minister clarified that the administration is performing its duty by removing encroachments in compliance with court orders and to mitigate public inconvenience. Any attempt to politicize such administrative action, he added, is unjustified and counterproductive.

Singh’s statements underline the government’s dual focus on maintaining law and order, protecting cultural and religious values, and addressing civic issues like pollution and encroachments. He emphasized that the administration will continue to act decisively on public interest matters while opposing attempts to derail governance for political gain.

In conclusion, Ravinder Indraj Singh reinforced that the Delhi government is committed to protecting the dignity of saints, promoting Sanatan Dharma values, ensuring environmental well-being, and implementing court-mandated administrative measures. He warned that attempts to insult religious figures, ignore public problems, or politicize governance will not be tolerated and assured that strict action will be taken wherever necessary.

This statement reflects the government’s firm stance against disrespect toward religious figures, negligence on civic issues, and politically motivated disruptions, signaling a commitment to cultural, social, and administrative accountability in Delhi.
