Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday visited the NCC Republic Day Camp 2026 at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment on the occasion of Indian Army Day. During her visit, she was accorded a Guard of Honour and witnessed an impressive march-past, brass band performances, and cultural presentations by NCC cadets from across the country.
The Chief Minister also visited the ‘Flag Area’, where cadets representing 17 NCC Directorates showcased exhibitions highlighting national values, civic responsibility, and the spirit of nation-building. The exhibits reflected India’s cultural diversity and emphasized unity, discipline, and service to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Rekha Gupta said that the National Cadet Corps has played a vital role for decades in instilling discipline, patriotism, unity, and a strong sense of duty among the youth. She noted that cadets from different states and backgrounds come together despite linguistic and cultural differences, symbolizing the true spirit of national integration and the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
The Chief Minister also visited the NCC ‘Hall of Fame’ to understand the organisation’s history, training structure, and achievements. She reviewed exhibitions related to the Yuva Aapda Mitra initiative and drone training, highlighting the NCC’s role in preparing youth for modern challenges. During the visit, she interacted with cadets from various parts of the country, encouraging them to remain disciplined, confident, and committed to national service.
The event was attended by the Director General of NCC, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, along with senior NCC officers and a large number of cadets participating in the Republic Day Camp.
Praising the cadets for their enthusiasm, discipline, unity, and patriotic spirit, the Chief Minister described the visit as one of the most memorable experiences of her life. She said the synchronised march-past, the vibrant performances, and the fluttering Tricolour created a powerful atmosphere that reflected the heartbeat of the nation. Commending the NCC’s structured training system, she said it prepares young people not only for defence-related roles but also for disaster management, leadership, social service, and responsible citizenship.
Highlighting the NCC motto “Unity and Discipline,” Rekha Gupta described it as the foundation for nurturing patriotism, constitutional values, and unity in diversity among the youth. She referred to NCC cadets as the future leaders of the nation and expressed confidence that they would continue to serve the country with dedication throughout their lives.
The Chief Minister stated that today’s NCC cadets are tomorrow’s national heroes who will contribute to nation-building in diverse fields. She emphasized that their training equips them with strong values, discipline, and a sense of responsibility toward society and the country.
Reiterating the Delhi Government’s commitment to strengthening the NCC ecosystem, Rekha Gupta assured better training facilities, improved infrastructure, and adequate resources for NCC centres in the national capital. She said the government would take all necessary steps to resolve training-related and land-related issues faced by the NCC in Delhi, ensuring that cadets receive the best possible environment for their development.
She further remarked that strong shoulders, disciplined minds, and unwavering dedication to the nation are essential for building a “Viksit Bharat.” The Chief Minister also appealed to the cadets to march on Kartavya Path during the Republic Day celebrations with pride, discipline, and a deep sense of duty toward the nation.
The visit underscored the government’s recognition of the NCC’s role in shaping disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens and reaffirmed its support for empowering youth as the backbone of the nation’s future.
