The Transport Department in Gautam Buddh Nagar has issued notices to 140 school vehicles operating without valid fitness certificates and permits.
Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 13, 2026 — The Transport Department in Gautam Buddh Nagar has taken strict action regarding the fitness and permit status of school vehicles operating in the district. Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Enforcement) Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey informed that, in compliance with the directions of the Transport Commissioner, all school managements and vehicle owners associated with schools have been instructed not to operate vehicles whose fitness certificates or permits have expired.
He stated that all educational institutions must ensure that vehicles registered or contracted by them undergo inspection by the Transport Department and renew their fitness certificates and permits. Until the required documents are renewed and become valid, such vehicles are strictly prohibited from transporting students.
Notices Issued to 140 Vehicles
According to the Transport Department, a total of 47 registered school vehicles and 93 contracted vehicles in Gautam Buddh Nagar currently have expired fitness certificates and permits.
The department has issued notices to all 140 vehicle owners and directed them to complete the required renewals immediately.
Strict Action for Rule Violations
Enforcement officials in the district are conducting a special inspection drive against school vehicles, and strict action is being taken against those found violating transport regulations.
The Transport Department clarified that if any school management or vehicle owner continues to operate vehicles in violation of the rules, legal action may be initiated and an FIR may also be filed through the concerned department.
Appeal to School Authorities and Vehicle Owners
The Transport Department has appealed to all school managements and vehicle owners to ensure that school vehicles are operated only after their fitness certificates and permits are renewed and valid.
Officials emphasized that strict compliance with these regulations is necessary to ensure the safety and security of school children.
