New Delhi | March 15, 2026 — Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta inaugurated the office building “Madan Das Devi Bhavan” and attended the 159th Micro Loan Distribution Ceremony organised by the social organisation Chaupal at Upasana Kunj, Rajpura Gurmandi in Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, the Speaker said that Chaupal has emerged as an important initiative aimed at empowering women, strengthening families and supporting education for children from economically weaker sections.
Focus on Empowering Women and Small Vendors
Speaking on the occasion, Vijender Gupta highlighted the social challenges faced by women engaged in small informal businesses, particularly those working in weekly markets and street-based trade.
He noted that many such women lack access to formal financial institutions and are often forced to borrow small amounts from informal lenders who charge excessive daily interest rates. As a result, a large portion of their daily earnings is spent on repaying interest, trapping them in a cycle of financial exploitation.
Gupta emphasised that providing access to fair and affordable credit is essential for protecting small vendors and women entrepreneurs from exploitative lending practices.
Micro Loans Support Livelihood and Education
The Speaker stated that Chaupal has played a constructive role in addressing this challenge by providing micro loans and financial support to individuals who remain outside the reach of conventional banking systems.
He said such initiatives help families sustain small businesses, improve household incomes and ensure that children receive proper education. He also praised the organisation for maintaining a strong loan repayment record over the years.
According to him, the transparency in the organisation’s functioning and its commitment to social service have helped build trust among beneficiaries.
Milestone in Chaupal’s Community Initiative
The inauguration of Madan Das Devi Bhavan marks an important milestone in Chaupal’s journey. During the event, micro loans were distributed to beneficiaries as part of the organisation’s 159th Micro Loan Distribution Ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to financial inclusion and grassroots entrepreneurship.
The Speaker also stressed the importance of philanthropic support and community participation in expanding such initiatives.
He expressed confidence that with continued public support, Chaupal will further expand its efforts in promoting women’s empowerment, livelihood opportunities and social upliftment.
