Neemrana, Rajasthan, December 22, 2025:
A high-level delegation from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) undertook a strategic benchmarking visit to the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) in Neemrana on Monday to study the development and operational framework of the Japanese Industrial Park established in Rajasthan. The visit was aimed at understanding best practices that can be replicated in the proposed Japanese Industrial City being planned in the YEIDA region of Uttar Pradesh.
The YEIDA delegation was led by CEO R.K. Singh and co-chaired by Additional CEO Shailendra Kumar Bhatia. The meeting also saw participation from ED, EPCMD-India, along with Sanjay Bagadia, Deputy General Manager, RIICO, and representatives from global consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY). Senior officials from RIICO shared detailed insights into the planning, execution, and management of the Neemrana Japanese Industrial Zone, which has emerged as a key investment hub for Japanese companies in India.

During the interaction, RIICO officials made a comprehensive presentation outlining the evolution of the Neemrana Japanese zone, highlighting how the project was conceptualised and developed to cater specifically to the requirements of Japanese investors. Discussions focused on the importance of customised land allocation, sector-specific zoning, and infrastructure planning that aligns with the operational culture and expectations of international manufacturing firms.
A key area of discussion was the incentive framework offered to Japanese companies, including financial benefits, administrative facilitation, and single-window clearances that helped attract sustained foreign investment. Officials also elaborated on how understanding investor-specific requirements—such as reliable power supply, water availability, waste management systems, logistics efficiency, and worker housing—played a crucial role in the long-term success of the industrial park.
The YEIDA team closely examined how these elements could be adapted for the upcoming Japanese Industrial City in Uttar Pradesh. The discussions emphasised the relevance of the “Neemrana Model” for optimising the master planning process in YEIDA, particularly in terms of integrating industrial zones with transport infrastructure, residential facilities, and social amenities to create a holistic industrial ecosystem.
Following the technical session, the YEIDA delegation undertook a field visit to the Japanese Industrial Park in Neemrana to observe the infrastructure, road networks, utility corridors, and on-ground facilities. The visit allowed officials to gain first-hand understanding of how industrial plots are laid out, how common infrastructure is managed, and how investor services are delivered efficiently within the park.
Speaking after the visit, YEIDA CEO R.K. Singh expressed appreciation to the Government of Rajasthan and the RIICO leadership for their cooperation and openness in sharing insights. He said the learnings from Neemrana, particularly in terms of land localisation, investor-centric planning, and specialised infrastructure, would be extremely valuable in developing a world-class Japanese Industrial Park in the YEIDA region. He added that the initiative would further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a competitive global investment destination.
During the interaction, the YEIDA leadership also explained the broader master planning vision of the authority, including its industrial cluster-based development approach. Officials highlighted the significance of multimodal connectivity planned across YEIDA’s industrial sectors, especially in view of the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, which is expected to act as a major catalyst for industrial growth, logistics, and foreign investment in the region.
The visit concluded with a formal vote of thanks from the YEIDA team, acknowledging the importance of inter-state collaboration in advancing India’s industrial development agenda. Officials noted that such knowledge-sharing initiatives are essential for replicating successful models and ensuring sustainable, investor-friendly industrial growth across states.
YEIDA is responsible for the planned development of the industrial corridor along the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, with a focus on building sustainable, technology-driven industrial hubs supported by robust infrastructure, global connectivity, and integrated urban planning.
