A high-level delegation from Wipro-GE Healthcare visited the Medical Device Park (MDP) being developed in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area on January 21, 2027, to assess infrastructure readiness and explore potential investment opportunities. The visit marked a significant step in YEIDA’s efforts to promote domestic manufacturing and boost exports in the medical devices sector.
The Medical Device Park is being developed by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority as a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub aimed at strengthening India’s medical device ecosystem. Spread over nearly 350 acres, the park is envisioned as a world-class facility offering integrated infrastructure, common scientific facilities, and export-oriented support systems to attract leading global and domestic manufacturers.
The delegation represented Wipro-GE Healthcare, a joint venture between Wipro Limited and GE Healthcare. The visit was organized following sustained engagement between YEIDA and the company and was held on the invitation of YEIDA Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh.

Detailed Inspection of Infrastructure and Facilities
During the visit, the Wipro-GE Healthcare delegation conducted an extensive on-site inspection of the Medical Device Park. Officials reviewed the overall layout of the park, ongoing development work, and the common scientific facilities being established to support medical device manufacturing, testing, and innovation.
The delegation appreciated the quality of infrastructure being created and the integrated ecosystem designed specifically for the medical devices sector. They noted that the park’s focus on shared facilities and industry-ready infrastructure could significantly reduce operational costs and improve ease of manufacturing for companies operating in the sector.

Strategic Location Highlighted
In discussions with the delegation, YEIDA officials emphasized the strategic advantages of the park’s location. The authority highlighted its proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport, which is expected to play a key role in facilitating global connectivity and exports.
Officials also pointed out the planned Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), dedicated rail connectivity near the airport, and direct linkage to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). According to YEIDA, these multimodal transport linkages will provide substantial logistical advantages, enabling faster movement of raw materials and finished medical devices for both domestic distribution and international export.
Integrated Industrial Ecosystem Explained
An overview of the Medical Device Park’s broader ecosystem was presented to the delegation by YEIDA Additional Chief Executive Officer Shailendra Kumar Bhatia. He explained that the park is being developed as part of a larger industrial cluster, which includes a data center park, apparel park, semiconductor park, and an electronics manufacturing cluster.
The delegation was informed that the Medical Device Park will also provide in-house export facilitation and licensing support, aimed at simplifying regulatory processes and improving ease of doing business for manufacturers. This integrated approach, officials said, is intended to create a seamless environment for companies across the value chain.
Progress and Investment Response

YEIDA officials informed the delegation that nearly 80 percent of the development work at the Medical Device Park has already been completed. The authority has set a target to fully complete the project by the end of 2026.
The park has received a strong response from the industry, with investment proposals exceeding ₹1,200 crore to date. Officials said that land allotment schemes launched for the park have generated considerable interest from domestic and international players in the medical devices sector, reflecting growing confidence in the project.
Wipro-GE Expresses Interest in Land Allotment
As part of its expansion strategy, Wipro-GE Healthcare expressed interest in the allotment of approximately 10 acres of land within the Medical Device Park. YEIDA officials stated that the proposal would be examined in accordance with the authority’s existing policies and procedures.
The expression of interest from a major global medical technology player is being seen as a positive signal for the park’s future prospects and its ability to attract anchor investors.

YEIDA Reaffirms Commitment
YEIDA reiterated its commitment to developing the Medical Device Park as a global manufacturing and export hub. Officials emphasized that the project focuses on creating advanced infrastructure, ensuring ease of doing business, and providing integrated support facilities tailored to the needs of the medical devices industry.
According to the authority, the park is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s self-reliance in medical device manufacturing, generating employment, and enhancing the country’s export capabilities. With growing industry interest and steady progress on the ground, YEIDA believes the Medical Device Park is on track to emerge as a key pillar of the region’s industrial growth.
