Champawat, 10 September : In Champawat, Uttarakhand, due to continuous rain since last night, traffic was disrupted due to a huge amount of debris at two places on Tanakpur-Pithoragarh NH. Due to this, long lines of vehicles were formed on both sides. Now the traffic has been smoothed somehow.
NH Traffic Update: Debris Removal in Progress
NH is disrupted due to a huge amount of debris falling in the danger zone between Swala and Amodi at 5.30 am. The machines installed by NH are continuously working to remove debris. There were long lines of vehicles on both sides. Somehow the traffic could be made smooth at around 10:30, and the vehicles stuck in the jam are being moved forward.
The rain continues continuously. Due to this, debris and stones are continuously falling, which poses a danger. The NH is closed due to debris near Meena Bazaar on Ghat Pithoragarh Road. Heavy debris has arrived in the morning near Hanuman Chatti of Purnagiri in the Tanakpur area. Many devotees coming for Darshan face huge problems. According to the disaster control room, a maximum rainfall of 87 mm has been recorded in Champawat.
