Ranchi, 10 September : Jharkhand has the responsibility of hosting the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for the first time in the country. The Asia Hockey Federation has released its schedule. The first match of the competition will be played between Japan and Malaysia on October 27, while India’s first match will be with Thailand on October 27 at 8.30 p.m.
The Jharkhand government and Hockey Jharkhand had announced free entry for sports lovers. Four players from Jharkhand are also part of the Indian team in this international trophy. These include Nikki Pradhan, Salima Tete, Beauty Dungdung, and Sangeeta Kumari. All matches will be played at the Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Marang Gomke, Ranchi. The top six teams of Asia, along with host India, Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand, are participating in the competition. Three matches are to be played each day.
