A series of mysterious fire incidents reported over the past week in a high-rise housing society in Greater Noida West has created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among residents. The incidents have occurred in Paramount Emotions Society, located under the Bisrakh police station area, where fires reportedly broke out in items kept outside residential flats.
According to residents, fires erupted in footwear, cardboard boxes, plastic items, and other household materials placed outside flats. What has alarmed residents the most is that these incidents occurred at different towers and floors, reducing the likelihood of a single technical fault.
Initially, the first incident was considered minor, but after three more similar cases were reported within a week, concerns escalated sharply. Residents fear that the fires could be the result of mischief or a serious lapse in safety measures within the society.
Although no injuries have been reported so far, residents believe the situation could have turned dangerous if the fires had not been noticed in time. In several cases, security staff and residents managed to extinguish the fire themselves, while questions were raised about the effectiveness of the society’s fire safety systems.
Police from Bisrakh station have been informed and have initiated an investigation. CCTV footage installed across the society premises is being examined to identify any suspicious activity prior to the incidents. Authorities are trying to determine whether the fires were accidental or deliberately caused.
Residents have also raised concerns over the lack of regular fire safety audits. Despite being a high-rise complex, some fire alarms, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems were reportedly not fully functional, delaying response during emergencies.
The incidents have led to growing criticism of the society management, with residents demanding stronger security arrangements, improved night patrols, and immediate inspection of all fire safety equipment. Many have urged the management to take preventive measures to avoid future mishaps.
Local authorities have been requested to conduct a thorough investigation and take strict action if foul play is detected. Residents hope that identifying the cause of these fires will restore a sense of safety and prevent further incidents.
For now, residents are exercising caution and avoiding placing flammable items outside their flats. However, the repeated incidents have left many anxious, awaiting clarity and reassurance from the authorities.
