The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority conducted a comprehensive encroachment removal drive on February 11, 2026, aimed at making roads and public spaces safer, smoother, and free from traffic congestion. The initiative is part of a daily enforcement plan to remove unauthorized vendors, carts, and temporary encroachments occupying roadsides and public areas across Noida.

Encroachment removal teams deployed across Work Circles 1 to 10 carried out coordinated action in several locations. Areas covered during the drive included Sectors 12, 43, 44, 45, 51, 52, 53, 57, 58, 59, 60, and Sector 76 near Princely Society.
Additional action was taken in Phase-2, Hosiery Complex, NRI Road, Sectors 80, 81, 84, Sector 87 Nayagaon, Cantt Road in Sector 87, the stretch from JP Flyover to DSC Road, Sector 163, Nagla Charandas, and Bhuda. Unauthorized vendors and encroachments were removed to restore the intended use of public spaces.
The primary objective of the drive was to improve traffic flow and ensure safe movement for pedestrians by clearing footpaths and roadsides of illegal obstructions. Authority officials stated that encroachments not only cause traffic congestion but also pose safety risks to pedestrians, senior citizens, school children, and emergency services.

The Noida Authority regularly receives complaints regarding unauthorized vendors and encroachments from residents’ welfare associations, industrial bodies, commercial establishments, and citizens through various channels. In response to these concerns, the authority has intensified enforcement efforts to maintain order and accessibility in public areas.
Officials clarified that the encroachment removal drive is not a one-time exercise but will be conducted on a daily basis. Continuous monitoring across all work circles will ensure that removed encroachments do not reappear and that public spaces remain accessible.
The authority emphasized that while enforcement actions are carried out with sensitivity and adherence to regulations, public interest remains the top priority. Illegal encroachments often obstruct emergency vehicle movement and increase the risk of accidents on busy roads.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the administration by avoiding illegal occupation of public roads, footpaths, and open spaces. The authority also encouraged residents to report encroachment-related issues through official channels for prompt action.
According to the Noida Authority, the encroachment removal campaign will be further strengthened in the coming days to support the vision of developing Noida as a well-planned, modern, and traffic-free city.
