Raipur, 7 September (HS): On the occasion of International Literacy Day, a state-level webinar has been organised on September 8 at 12:00 noon. In this webinar, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, School Education Minister Ravindra Choubey, Secretary of School Education Department Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Special Secretary and Director of State Literacy Mission Authority Rajesh Singh Rana, and officials of the State Literacy Mission Authority and State Literacy Centre (SCERT) will be present.
In the webinar, all the district education officers, principals, DIET, district project officers, DMCs of overall education, all development block education officers, development block project officers, BRC, CAC, CRC, all principals, head readers, and teachers from school education and literacy All the connected resource persons, skilled trainers, volunteer teachers, and students of the state will participate.
A literacy week was organised in the state from September 1 to September 7 to create an atmosphere for the New India Literacy Program. Director and Member Secretary, State Literacy Mission Authority, Rajesh Singh Rana, has prepared a special strategy for this programme of national importance for all the district collectors and district education officers to ensure active participation of all sections in it and wide publicity for activities on each day as per the action plan. Instructions were given to disseminate. Rana said that the purpose of Literacy Week is to focus the attention of all sections on the New India Literacy Programme.
It is noteworthy that the scheme focused on education for all, the Ullas-New India Literacy Programme, has been approved by the Government of India for implementation during the financial year 2022–2027 in accordance with the National Education licy 2020. The scheme has five components: basic literacy and numeracy, critical life skills, basic education, practical education, and continuing education.
