New Delhi, December 14, 2025: A massive opposition-led mega rally titled “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhodo” was organised at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, following a call by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge. The rally witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with a large number of people participating from several states across the country, reflecting growing political mobilisation against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
The mega rally saw enthusiastic participation from Congress workers and supporters, who gathered in large numbers to register their protest and listen to the party leadership. Party flags, slogans, and a charged atmosphere marked the event, which leaders described as a significant show of public sentiment on issues related to democracy and electoral integrity.
From Dadri Assembly constituency in Gautam Budh Nagar, a large contingent of Congress workers participated under the leadership of Shahid. The group departed early in the morning at around 9:00 am and reached Ramlila Maidan in time to attend the rally and listen to Rahul Gandhi’s address. The participation from Dadri highlighted the active involvement of grassroots workers in the opposition’s nationwide mobilisation.
Addressing party workers at the rally, Shahid said that the slogan “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhodo” would prove politically costly for the BJP. He claimed that the message raised during the rally strongly resonated with public concerns and would have a significant impact on the national political discourse. According to him, the large turnout demonstrated that people were increasingly coming together to raise their voices against alleged irregularities and issues affecting democratic processes.
The rally was attended by several local and regional leaders along with a large number of party workers. Prominent among those present from the Dadri region were Waseel Ahmed, chairman candidate from Dadri, Imran, Ram Bharose Sharma, farmer leader Abbas Haider, Radha Rani, president of the Women’s Congress, along with many other Congress workers and supporters. Their presence underlined the collective participation of leaders from different social and organisational backgrounds.
Participants at the rally said that the event was not merely a political gathering but a platform to express public concerns regarding democracy, governance, and electoral fairness. Leaders reiterated that the Congress party and the broader opposition alliance would continue to raise these issues through democratic means and sustained public engagement.
The organisers said the rally reflected unity and coordination among party workers from different states, who travelled long distances to participate. The scale of the gathering, they claimed, sent a strong political message and demonstrated the opposition’s ability to mobilise support at the national level.
Congress workers from Dadri and other regions expressed enthusiasm after listening to Rahul Gandhi’s speech, stating that such rallies boosted morale and strengthened organisational resolve. They said the leadership’s message had reinforced their commitment to working at the grassroots level and engaging more actively with the public in the coming months.
According to party leaders, the “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhodo” mega rally marked an important step in the opposition’s broader campaign. They said similar programmes would be organised in other parts of the country to connect with citizens and highlight issues related to democratic rights and accountability.
The rally concluded peacefully, with party organisers ensuring orderly conduct throughout the programme. Leaders thanked the participants for their disciplined participation and said that the large turnout would serve as a foundation for further political outreach and mobilisation in the days ahead.
