Noida: Hundreds of Congress workers from Noida participated in the Congress party’s mega rally titled “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhodo,” held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on December 14, 2025. The workers departed for Delhi from Noida Sector-2 under the leadership of senior Congress leader Satendra Sharma, who is the State Coordinator of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and in-charge of Baraut–Baghpat.
Speaking before the departure, Satendra Sharma said that the rally in Delhi would be historic and would mark the beginning of the political countdown for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He claimed that the public mood across the country and in Uttar Pradesh had decisively turned against the BJP and that people had firmly aligned themselves with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Sharma alleged that repeated instances of vote theft were taking place during elections, leading to the erosion of the democratic rights of ordinary citizens.

According to Sharma, the country’s people have now realised that the current political situation cannot continue for long. He stated that widespread dissatisfaction is growing due to issues such as the alleged manipulation of electoral processes and the weakening of democratic institutions. He asserted that the BJP’s time in power is nearing its end and that the Delhi mega rally would serve as a powerful expression of public resentment and demand for change.
Sharma further said that the Congress party has consistently raised the voice of the people, both on the streets and in democratic forums, and would continue to fight for the protection of constitutional values and citizens’ rights. He accused the current government of repeatedly undermining public interests and diverting attention from core issues affecting the common people. However, he maintained that public awareness was increasing and that citizens were now prepared to stand up against injustice.

The mobilisation witnessed the presence of several senior and youth Congress leaders and a large number of party workers. Prominent leaders who participated included Baraut–Baghpat city Congress coordinator Satendra Sharma, Noida city Congress vice-president Vikram Chaudhary, Abhishek Kumar, Faim Khan, Shivam Rathore, Sushil Yadav, Avinash Singh, Gopal Sharma, Annu Yadav, Saurabh Sharma, Mohit Kumar, Raju Thakur, Vijay Kumar, Rajesh Balmiki, Ankit Rajput, Rohit Sharma, Dr Subhash Sharma, Mayank Kumar, Vardan Kumar, Sanjay Singh, Sachin Lala, and Morchand Kumar. Along with them, hundreds of other youth Congress workers and supporters were also present.
Congress leaders present at the gathering described the Delhi mega rally as more than just a political event, calling it a mass movement aimed at safeguarding democracy and the Constitution. They said that concerns over alleged vote theft and denial of democratic rights were no longer limited to political circles, but had become major public issues that were resonating strongly with citizens across the country.
There was visible enthusiasm among Congress workers as they prepared to leave for Delhi. Party flags, slogans, and chants reflected a charged political atmosphere. Leaders stated that the large turnout from Noida demonstrated increasing support for the Congress in western Uttar Pradesh and highlighted the growing organisational strength of the party in the region.
The leaders also said that the party would intensify its organisational activities in the coming months, focusing on strengthening booth-level structures and expanding public outreach. They expressed confidence that sustained grassroots engagement would help the Congress emerge as a strong alternative in upcoming elections, with issues such as democratic accountability, unemployment, and public rights forming the core of its campaign.
Arrangements were made to ensure that the departure of Congress workers for Delhi took place in an orderly and disciplined manner. Party organisers said that the mobilisation was peaceful and well-coordinated, reflecting the party’s commitment to democratic and non-violent political expression.
At the conclusion of the programme, Satendra Sharma expressed gratitude to all Congress workers and supporters from Noida for their participation. He said that unity among party workers was the Congress party’s greatest strength and added that the Delhi rally would send a clear political message at the national level. According to him, the mega rally would play an important role in shaping the future course of national politics and reinforcing the struggle for democratic rights and constitutional values.
