IndiGo has announced that it will become the first airline to begin commercial flight operations from Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh. The airline is set to launch services from the newly developed airport on June 15, 2026, marking a major step in the expansion of aviation infrastructure in the National Capital Region. The airport will become the third major aviation hub serving Delhi-NCR after Indira Gandhi International Airport and Hindon Airport.

The airline stated that it will gradually connect Noida International Airport with more than 16 cities across India through direct flights. The initial network will include major metropolitan destinations such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad along with important tier-2 and tier-3 cities including Lucknow, Jaipur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Srinagar, Pantnagar, and Navi Mumbai. The expansion is aimed at improving regional air connectivity while offering passengers more convenient travel options and reduced dependency on existing airports in Delhi.

Located along the Yamuna Expressway in Jewar, the airport is expected to emerge as a major transportation gateway for western Uttar Pradesh and the wider NCR region. The airport has been designed under a multi-modal connectivity model that integrates road, rail, and air transport systems. This integrated infrastructure is expected to reduce travel time for passengers and support smoother movement between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and nearby cities.

According to the airline, bookings for the newly announced routes are being introduced in phases through its official website, mobile application, and authorized travel partners. The airline believes that the launch of operations from Noida International Airport will significantly reduce congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, which has witnessed rising passenger traffic over the years. The new airport is expected to provide a more accessible option for travelers from western Uttar Pradesh, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, Aligarh, Mathura, and surrounding regions.

The airline also highlighted that it will now operate services from all three airports in the National Capital Region — Indira Gandhi International Airport, Hindon Airport, and Noida International Airport. Industry experts believe this move further strengthens the airline’s domestic network and reinforces its position as the country’s leading airline in terms of market reach and passenger traffic.

Noida International Airport is being considered one of India’s largest greenfield airport infrastructure projects. The airport has been planned with future expansion in mind and is expected to handle both domestic and international traffic in the coming years. Advanced passenger processing systems, modern terminal facilities, digital infrastructure, and efficient transport integration are among the key features planned at the airport.

The opening of the airport is also expected to boost economic activity in western Uttar Pradesh by improving business connectivity and attracting investment. Improved air connectivity often leads to growth in tourism, hospitality, logistics, and commercial development, and aviation analysts believe the airport could transform the region into a major economic corridor over the next decade.

The inaugural schedule announced for June 15, 2026, includes a special flight from Lucknow to Noida departing at 7:05 AM and arriving at 8:05 AM. Another inaugural service from Noida to Bengaluru is scheduled to depart at 8:35 AM. Additional routes are expected to be introduced gradually as operations expand in phases over the coming months.

Aviation experts believe the launch of IndiGo services from Noida International Airport reflects the broader growth of India’s aviation sector and the increasing demand for regional connectivity. The development of new airports and expansion of airline networks are being seen as essential to supporting India’s rapidly growing domestic travel market. The airport is expected to play a major role in reshaping air travel patterns in northern India by offering passengers a modern, less congested, and strategically located alternative.

With the beginning of commercial operations, Noida International Airport is expected to emerge as an important aviation hub for both passengers and businesses. The launch also underlines the continuing expansion of aviation infrastructure across India as airlines and airport operators prepare for rising passenger demand in the coming years.
